Meet woman, DU graduate, who cracked UPSC exam on first attempt, secured AIR...

Every year, thousands of candidates for the UPSC take the nation's most difficult exam in the hopes of becoming an IPS or IAS officer. Not everyone, though, is cut out to pass the UPSC. Few people pass the preliminary exam, move on to the main exam, and then proceed to the interview stage.
 
Imagine being turned down for a single grade. You did indeed read correctly! IAS Shruti Sharma's year's worth of diligent work was in vain when she narrowly missed getting called for her UPSC interview. That didn't stop Shruti, though. With the correct attitude and mindset, Shruti saw it as a stepping stone to greater success rather than crumbling.

She achieved All India Rank (AIR)-1 in her subsequent attempt thanks to her perseverance and hard work. Her perseverance eventually paid off. The girl who was awarded a single mark for missing her interview went on to get an AIR-1. This is the amazing tale of Bijnor district-born IAS Shruti Sharma from Uttar Pradesh. Shruti Sharma attended Delhi University's St Stephen's College after completing her education at the Sardar Patel Vidyalaya before earning her degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

She enrolled in Jamia Millia Islamia Residential Coaching Academy due to her inner call to the civil service. She put a lot of preparation into her career, and many people now find inspiration in her journey from student to IAS officer.
 
When asked about her approach to preparation, Shruti said that she continued to concentrate on reviewing her own notes and rehearsing answering them. She prioritised current events as well, reading newspapers and general knowledge websites in great detail. She advised IAS candidates to rehearse answering online test series and to utilise their coaching notes.
