After SS Rajamouli's RRR broke box office records in Japan and ahead of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan's release in Japan in November, Salaar Part 1 - Ceasefire has released in Japan on July 5. The epic action thriller, which grossed Rs 700 crore worldwide upon its release in December, is headlined by Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, and directed by Prashanth Neel.

The production house Hombale Films announced the film's release in Japan on their social media handles on Friday. Along with sharing the film's poster featuring Prabhas, the makers wrote the caption, "Watch Salaar: Part 1 - CeaseFire in a theatre near you! #SalaarCeaseFire is now in cinemas across Japan!".

As soon as the announcement was made, Prabhas fans shared their excitement. One of them wrote, "Telugu cinema is coming to rule the world", while another added, "Salaar fans are eagerly waiting for the Part 2." Salaar Part 1 - Ceasefire ended on a cliffhanger with the beginning of rivalry between the two best friends Deva and Vardha, played by Prabhas and Prithviraj.

Apart from Prabhas and Prithviraj, Salaar also stars Jagapathi Babu, Eeswari Rao, Shruti Haasan, Sriya Reddy, Tinnu Anand, and Bobby Simha in key roles. Talking about the sequel, Salaar Part 2: Shouryaanga Parvam will go on floors from August 10 with a 15-day shooting schedule at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Prashanth Neel has already shot for 20 percent of the sequel while making the first part and the makers plan to release Salaar Part 2 in the end of 2025.
