Bebo is Tusshar’s agony aunt

The actor, being nervous about working with ‘hard taskmaster’ Priyadarshan, sought Kareena’s advice before the shoot of ‘Dhol’

Before beginning the shooting of director Priydarshan’s ‘Dhol’, Tusshar Kapoor was very nervous as he had never worked with the veteran before. Also, he had heard from  colleagues Om Puri and Rajpal Yadav that Priydarshan could be quite a hard taskmaster on the sets.

So before going on the sets, Tusshar sought to call his friend Kareena Kapoor, who has worked with Priyan earlier (‘Chup Chup ke’, ‘Hulchul’ and ‘Kyun Ki’) and asked for her advice. It was only after sharing his fears with Kareena that Tusshar felt in a better position to handle the first day of the shoot.

Tusshar relates, “I was on the highway, heading for my ‘Dhol’ shoot. I was very nervous as I had never worked with Priyan Sir. Kareena has been my best friend for a long time. She has also worked with Priyan Sir in three films. So I called her up to seek her guidance and relieve my stress.”

He adds, “Later, I spoke to my co-stars who had already worked with him including Rajpal. I was astounded to hear them praise his work. He makes gestures before a shot, which you have to grasp to give a good take. He is a perfectionist; he always keeps us on our toes.”

Tusshar adds, “Shooting for ‘Dhol’ was like a picnic. We use to play table-tennis and cricket during the breaks. ‘Dhol’ was like a rapport building exercise for the crew. We became the best of buddies as we began understanding each other. This is finely reflected in our performances in the movie.”

After the hit ‘Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai’, Kareena and Tusshar have not been featured together, but their friendship still persists.
