Fourteen boys and girls once had the desire to be in the Indian Army.

Though they could not make it into the army, they are realising their dream through a reality show called D3 Commando Force, the third season of Dadagiri.

The objective of the show is to create commandos out of civilians in the battle against terrorism.

Captain Albert Louis, ex-para-command and special forces, Indian army and Captain Kshitij Sharma and Captain Dharamveer Singh, officer, India Army, have partnered with the show.

They shall be training and judging these 14 contestants through the use of real weapons, tactics and discipline of military units.

The contestants have been put up at a unique location, Kolwel (near Goa) which has the geographical benefit of mountains, forest and sea, together.

Here, the participants will be subjected to real time commando training such as survival tactics, water landings, night navigations, bootcamp drills, fitness and weapon training.

Vivan Bhatena will be anchoring the show. “Because of very high temperatures, it’s very exhausting for the contestants to train. But at the same time, it’s exciting too, because they are getting to experience the life of a real commando. Initially, we were skeptical if people would want to participate in the show. But it was good to see the overwhelming response,” says Vivan.

About 6,500 contestants turned up for the auditions and went through a fitness grill at Delhi, Lucknow and Mumbai.
