Amid speculations of a low key affair that has also been marred by political threats, IIFA will look to kick off proceedings in a grand way on Day One of the three-day weekend and awards. Being held in the picturesque island nation of Sri Lanka, the weekend promises to dazzle audiences as it dishes out some big superstars like Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan among many others to enthrall one and all. From cricket matches to business conclaves to fashion shows and after-parties to the awards — it is going to be a busy weekend in Colombo.

The stars are ready for the excitement to begin. “It is a beautiful country and we are sure we will have a memorable time there,” says Sanjay Dutt. Vivek Oberoi adds, “This is the first time IIFA is being held in Sri Lanka and I think it’s important that we go to the country to boost tourism. Sri Lanka as we all know is coming out of a tense political situation and we must help the country to become stable. I’m very excited about travelling there and seeing the beautiful places. I hear Sri Lankan people are very warm.”
Suniel Shetty adds, “We are not worried about the security issue as we have complete faith in the Sri Lankan government to take care of us.”

Even Sri Lankans are very excited to host the Indian stars. “It will be great to host Indians in Sri Lanka and I’m sure my country will do everything possible to make sure all the Indians come back to India with an everlasting memory,” says Sri Lanka’s cricket team captain Kumar Sangakkara.
