You can hear everyone say that this is the golden age of television. The definition of television might have changed and the position must have gone from your drawing room to your pocket.
But one thing remains the same. Content spells quality and it’s available along with quantity (read: innumerable choices) in a few clicks. This may be one of the reasons movie stars are now making time to do TV shows. It started with the mini-series era with the likes of Meryl Streep and Emma Thompson and now, goes on with Kevin Spacey (House Of Cards) and Viola Davis (How To Get Away With Murder) ruling primetime.

Tom Felton
FRANCHISE: Harry Potter
SHOW: The Flash
Felton is recognised for his role as Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter franchise. He joined the superhero series The Flash as the goofy Julian Albert. The guy turned out to be ‘Doctor Alchemy.’ This is Felton continuing the ‘get-British-guy-to-play-villain' legacy the American entertainment industry is pursuing.
Rupert Grint
FRANCHISE: Harry Potter
SHOW: Snatch
Grint, the HP series’ Ron Wesley, is following in the footsteps of his silver screen nemesis Felton with the TV remake of Guy Ritchie’s Snatch, available for online streaming platform Crackle. His portrayal of the utterly posh Charlie Cavendish is worlds apart from the clumsy boy with the golden heart.
Terrence Howard
FRANCHISE: Iron Man
SHOW: Empire
Okay fine, he was in one Iron Man installment as Col James Rhodes (the first movie). Being replaced in the second installment onwards might have been the best thing to have happened to him. Lee Daniels hired him for TV series Empire to play Lucious Lyon, the patriarch of the most dramatically musical family on primetime.

SHOW: Penny Dreadful
The ghost of Greene’s Vesper Lynd hangs heavy since her death in Casino Royale. Her memories still haunt Bond. But Green moved on to be part of Penny Dreadful on television and became a cult favourite as well.
Laurence Fishburne
FRANCHISE: Matrix
SHOW: Hannibal
Fishburne is remembered for his role as Morpheus, the mentor to Keanu Reeves’ Neo in the Matrix series. But with Brian Fuller’s version of Hannibal for the small screen, Fishburne made sleuthing interesting.
Michael Sheen
FRANCHISE: Underworld, Twilight
SHOW: Masters of Sex
Put nothing past this British actor. As a creature of the night in Underworld and a vampire overlord in The Twilight Saga, he was something of a fixture. But it’s (the recently cancelled, unfortunately) Masters of Sex that got him a Golden Globes nomination in 2014.
