'Heroine''s promo was a real surprise birthday gift: Mugdha Godse

Actor Mugdha Godse, who’s just returned from a month-long adventurous, back-packing trip across Europe describes it as one of the best holidays, she’s ever had. “Yes I was busy holidaying in Europe,” says the actor, who had finally taken a break from her shooting schedules. Calling it a rather well-deserved break, Mugdha reveals the places she had visited. “I visited Spain, Barcelone, Portugal, Hungary, Budapest, Lisbon, and a host of other places,” adds Mugdha. What made it more exciting was the fact that she even got to attend several of the local festivals there including a few international ones like the O.Z.O.R.A. music festival and the Italian Nova festival. “I was to return earlier, but then decided to extend my holiday by a week and also celebrate my birthday there. And at the end of it, I still wanted my vacation to last a little longer,” shares Mughdha.

While she was away, the actor seems to have got a huge surprise gift back home in the form of the release of the first look of Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Heroine, in which Mugdha has a cameo. “Well, when Madhur asked me to do a cameo, I just agreed, but I had no idea that I would be in the promos. The look was unveiled on the day of my birthday, when I was in Europe. But it was the best surprise gift I could’ve ever got,” says Mugdha, talking about the phone calls she got from her friends on seeing the promos. Having worked with Madhur on Fashion earlier, there were later reports of their falling out. “No there was never any fall-out. Madhur gave me my break in Bollywood and I’m making a cameo in Heroine too. So, where’s the question of us having a fall-out?” she quips, brushing aside rumours of trouble between the two.

Heroine, apart, Mugdha will soon be seen in a full-fledged role in the comedy No Rules For Fools directed by Anil Kumar Chaudhary that also stars Vinay Pathak. “It’s an interesting fun role and I will be playing a Punjabi wife,” she says. Also in her kitty is Oh God Saare Fraud, for which she is shooting at present. “The criteria for me has always been the script, but I must admit that banners do matter a great deal,” adds Mugdha, who wants to do a period drama.
