Hollywood actors turned authors

Tom Hanks is writing a collection of short stories that is loosely connected to photographs of typewriters from his personal collection. In a statement, the actor said, "I've been collecting typewriters for no particular reason since 1978 — both manual and portable machines dating from the 30s to the 90s. The stories are not about the typewriters themselves, but rather, the stories are something that might have been written on one of them." He also had his first Short Story published in The New Yorker recently. But he isn't the only Hollywood actor who has turned author. Here are some celeb autos who have been published previously:

Billy Crystal
Based on the author's own experience, I Already Know I Love You describes the feelings that comes with being a grandfather for the very first time. Beginning with anticipating the new baby's arrival, this book is about the various moments that a new grandfather goes through.

Whoopi Goldberg

Queen Latifah
Queen Latifah wrote Queen of the Scene. The story is about a girl who is it an ace at various sports. The actress teamed up with artist Frank Morrison for the book.

Julianne Moore
Through Freckleface Strawberry, Julianne Moore tells the story of a girl who wishes to be rid of her freckles but eventually accepts them. The actress started penning the book when her son began disliking this particular aspect of his appearance. It reminded her of her own childhood, when she was teased for having freckles and called "Freckleface Strawberry" by other children. After three books in the Freckleface Strawberry series, Moore's fourth children's book was released in September 2013, was not a part of the series. Titled My Mom Is A Foreigner, But Not To Me, the book was based on her experiences of growing up with a mother from another country.
