JD Majethia’s wife Nipa returns to TV after 20 years

Producer JD Majethia’s wife Nipa, who had taken a break from acting, is making a comeback after 20 years. She will be seen in Khidki that is based on stories sent in by viewers.

The serial produced and hosted by JD will also see him acting in the episodes that his wife stars. Interestingly, she will be playing JD’s neighbour’s wife and not his! Says JD, “We had been approached for Power Couple and a dance show too, but somehow things didn’t work out.

This time we had an important role and everyone felt that my wife will be apt for it. When I asked her, she was also game for it. Only she will be calling me Bhau in the serial, which is quite funny.” Nipa, who has done theatre and TV was last seen in Ek Mahal Ho Sapnon Ka opposite Deven Bhojani.

She took a break to take care of her two daughters and now that they are grown-up, is returning to acting. Soon, JD plans to produce a play for her. “She is not interested much in TV because it takes up a lot of time. Theatre is better because it is not so time-consuming once the rehearsals are done and they stage the plays.”
