The actress says that she doesn’t believe in making friends on reality shows.
Actress Payal Rohatgi was ecstatic when she heard that the reality show she chose to participate in will be hosted by superstar Shah Rukh Khan. But her joy was short-lived.
The actress suffered from a hairline fracture during a sequence on the show, in Argentina, and as a result she had to be sent back to India. But not one to have any regrets, Payal says that she is just happy to be a part of a show that will be anchored by the superstar.
“We didn’t actually meet, because the format was such that the participants had to shoot in Argentina while Shah Rukh shot his bit from another studio. But just the thought of him watching the show was good enough for me to give it my best shot,” says Payal.
Payal reveals that she didn’t know about SRK coming on board till a day before she boarded the flight to Argentina. “But one kind of feels safe to have a person of his stature on board. Because then you know that the show will rock, the promos will be great, the curiosity level will be high and there won’t be resorting to any cheap tricks to grab eyeballs,” she says.
Ask her about her hand injury and Payal confirms that she suffered a hairline fracture and that the doctor put a cast around her hand and advised her to keep it wrapped for a few weeks. “I came out after three weeks of shooting and a few weeks of having my hand in a cast meant that the show would anyway be over by the time I would be able to resume,” she shrugs adding that she still feels a slight pain in her hand.
Ask her if she bonded well with her co-contestants on the show and Payal says that she no longer feels the necessity to become friends with people at work. “I’m going through this phase where I don’t make an effort to make friends with anyone. This is primarily because I know that people try to make friends only till the time the camera is on. I’m not comfortable with such friendships and I didn’t resort to it in Bigg Boss either,” Payal concludes.
