Daniel Radcliffe has ruled out any possibility of him starring in a planned Lord Of The Rings prequel.

The actor was said to have been the favourite to lead the cast of The Hobbit, however, he insisted that he had enough of "wizards", thanks to the hit Harry Potter series.

"I'd have to say, 'Thanks but no thanks,' not that anyone has asked me," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

"Honestly, I don't think they would want me anyway; it's just too close (to Potter franchise). Whatever I do next, I don't think there will be any wizards in it!" he added.

The star further revealed who would be his favourite to play the role of the protagonist Bilbo Baggins.

He said: "James McAvoy is fantastic. I think he should play it. I've done the fantasy film thing. Actually, so has he, with the Chronicles of Narnia, of course. But I've done it for longer. He can take over. I'm done."
