Stand-up comic Vir Das: No Seriously!

If laughter is the best medicine, then Vir Das is the doctor dispensing it.  Ask anyone who has watched Vir Das at any of his stand-up comic gigs or the long-running popular show History of India, people leave with a stitch in their sides. So ok, what is the health benefit of a stitch in the side, you ask.  It’s a minor discomfort for an hour or so of side-splitting laughter.

Vir Das is one rare young Indian who could easily compare with the famous line up of Whose Line Is It Anyway. His delivery and timing and above all, his irreverence for all things that are considered taboo, is what makes him a guy you’d want to visit with an IV needle stuck in your arm.

The Harvard grad wears his laurels lightly. Light enough for us to take him seriously as the best stand-up comic India has produced.
