As per expert, 'Disease X' is even more dangerous than Covid-19 and it has the potential to cause another pandemic. Kate Bingham, a UK-based health expert, who chaired the UK vaccine taskforce from May to December 2020, said in an interview with the Daily Mail that the new virus could be as devastating as the Spanish flu (1919-1920). The nature of this disease still remains unclear.
What is 'Disease X'?
The World Health Organisation has confirmed that 'Disease X' is a new virus a bacterium or a fungus with no known treatment. The WHO report of November 2022 mentions that 'Disease X' has been included to indicate an unknown pathogen that could cause a serious international pandemic.
History of 'Disease X'?
As per WHO, 'Disease X' was reported for the first time in 2018 as an unknown disease with pandemic potential. WHO's official website states, "Disease ", which is also relevant to an unknown 'Disease X'." WHO is working with scientists to develop a customisable formula to create vaccines, as per reports.
