'I Kidnapped Kim Kardashian': Man who robbed reality TV star in Paris recounts heist in tell-all book

No one in France had been robbed of millions of worth of assets in over two decades. All over the news, Kim Kardashian's 2016 robbery was termed 'the robbery of the decade' around the world. The one reason Yunice Abbas said he became part of the heist was that he had said he did not know who Kim was. He told Evening Standard, "knew nothing about this girl before taking part in the robbery… I was closed off from the universe of reality TV stars and influencers". He said he only knew of Kardashian as "the wife of an American rapper" adding that he wouldn't have got involved if he'd known how famous Kim Kardashian was.

Yunice Abbas was arrested in the Kim Kardashian robbery case in 2017 and he plans on pleading guilty of all the charges levelled against him. So, what is the motive behind writing a book? In an interview to AFP, Abbas revealed that he wanted to tell his truth. He said "50 stories have already been told about all this. I wanted to tell my truth, the one I've lived."

In his interview with AFP, accused Yunice Abbas, 67, reveals that the robbery went quickly and smoothly. No one interfered and all it took was five, six or maximum seven minutes for them to carry out the heist. "It went fast – maybe five, six, seven minutes – from entry to exit, because everything went smoothly. Nobody interfered, the victim handed over the jewels without resistance,” he said.

In his tell-all book, Yunice Abbas has claimed that a panicked Kim Kardashian, who handed over the jewellery without resistence, kept trying to dial 911. It was of course in vain because she wasn't in New York but Paris. 

For the unversed, the police were unable to recover any stolen pieces. However, one diamond-encrusted cross was found which Abbas had dropped when he tried to flee the scene.
