Meet IPS officer Lipi Singh who is popularly known as 'Lady Singham'

Lipi Singh is a 2016 batch IPS officer. She had qualified the civil services exam in 2015, in which she had secured 114 All India Rank. According to a report of Times of India, Lipi Singh's first posting was as Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), in Barh sub-division of Patna district. Last year, during the idol immersion after Durga Puja, Lipi Singh was targeted, for police action on the crowd. In fact, violence broke out during idol immersion and a 20-year-old man died in it. After this, the police were accused of firing. However, the police denied the allegation and said that the man was shot by some chaotic element present in the crowd. At that time, the Legislative Assembly elections were going on in Bihar and the Election Commission took strict steps and removed SP Lipi Singh. Lipi Singh was removed from the post of Munger SP by the Election Commission in October last year. She was waiting for her posting. Meanwhile, she was made the SP of Saharsa district by the Bihar government in January, this year.

Lipi Singh's father RCP Singh has also been an IAS officer. RCP Singh, a 1984 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer, took voluntary retirement (VRS) from the Indian Administrative Service in 2010, under VRS. Lipi Singh's father, RCP Singh has recently been made a minister during the cabinet expansion of the Modi government and has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Steel. Apart from this, he is also the National President of JDU. Ramchandra Prasad Singh is currently a member of the Rajya Sabha and is considered very close to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
