Jharkhand lynching: BJP-RSS has increased hate, says Owaisi, Congress claims state is factory of violence

A day after a 22-year-old man had succumbed to injuries after he was beaten to death by the locals in Jharkhand's Saraikela, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday slammed BJP and RSS for the incident and hatred against the Muslims in the society. 

The deceased has been identified as Tabrez Ansari, who was allegedly targeted by the locals, was later rescued by police and detained on suspicion of theft. The deceased was admitted to a local hospital where he succumbed to injuries. The incident happened on Sunday (June 23).

Slamming BJP and RSS for the incident, Owaisi said, "such incidents are not going to stop as the BJP and RSS have increased hate against the Muslims in society."

Contrary to Owaisi's allegations, Jharkhand Minister CP Singh said that a trend of linking such incidents to the BJP and right-wing organisations is prevalent. The minister said that the state government would conduct an investigation in the case.

Tabrez's family, however, alleged that the attack was communal and that he was made to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Jai Hanuman'. An FIR has been registered in the case.

"Incidents of mob lynching are not going to stop because BJP and RSS have increased a sense of hatred against Muslims," Owaisi mentioned.

 

He said, "They have successfully created a mindset where Muslims are seen as terrorists, anti-nationals and cow slaughterers."

 

A 22-year-old man identified as Tabrez Ansari succumbed to his injuries on Sunday after being beaten up by locals in Saraikela Kharsawanand district in Jharkhand. He was later arrested on suspicion of theft.

Speaking on the death of Tabrez Ansari in the alleged Jharkhand lynching case, state minister CP Singh, "Trend prevalent these days to associate such incidents with BJP, RSS, VHP & Bajrang Dal. It's a time of 'cut & paste', who fits what words where is difficult to say."

 

The government will conduct an investigation. There is a trend to politicise such incidents, which is wrong.

A Special Investigating Team (SIT) has been formed in the Jharkhand lynching case where a 22-year-old man was beaten to death by the locals on suspicion of theft. The incident took place on June 23 (Sunday). 

 

The police has formed an SIT to probe Tabrez Ansari's, the deceased, who was allegedly targeted by the locals on suspicion of bike theft on June 18.

Five including the main accused have been arrested in an alleged mob lynching case, where a 22-year-old man was beaten to death by the locals in Saraikela, Jharkhand.

 

The accused who have been arrested are Bhimshen Mandal, Premchand Mandal, Kamal Mehto, Sonamo Pradhan and Prakash Mandal aka Pappu Mandal (main accused).

 

"Some locals thrashed Tabrez and later gave him over to the police. He was suspected of theft but it was a communal attack. He was beaten because he had a Muslim name. They made him chant 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Jai Hanuman' again and again. We were not allowed to meet him at the hospital. We have the video of the incident. I demand the culprits be arrested," Tabrez's relative Maqsood Alam said.
