Railways Ministry to roll out Tejas Sleeper Type trains, check features here

The coach has an automatic plug door and all main entrance doors are centralised controlled by the guard. The train won’t start until all doors are closed. The complete under-frame of the train is made of stainless steel which increases life of the coach because of reduced corrosion. The seats and berths have PU foam to provide better comfort to passengers.

The coach provides mobile charging points and berth reading light for each passenger. The new train comes with a convenient upper berth arrangement and instead of curtains, roller blinds are provided for easy sanitisation.

The smart feature includes PA/PIS (passenger announcement/passenger information system), a digital destination board, CCTV with night vision capability Facial recognition even in low light condition, Network Video Recorder and Air quality measurement for Air conditioning system. The Tejas Sleeper Type train also has an Emergency Talk back for medical or security emergency.

The train toilets have a Bio-vacuum toilet system which provides improved hygiene condition in the toilet due to improved flushing and also save water per flush. The train also has improved toilet units provided with touch-less fittings, marble finish with anti-graffiti coating, gel coated shelf, new design dustbin, door latch activated light and engagement display. It also has water level sensor to indicate water availability.

All train coaches are provided with Automatic Fire Alarm and Detection System. The train bogies are provided with Air Spring suspension to improve comfort and ride quality of these coaches. Both exterior and interior of the bogie are provided with textured PVC film.
