Ram Temple 'Bhoomi Pujan': From Rameswaram soil to Sangam water, here is how Ayodhya is preparing for grand ceremony

The preparation of 1,11,000 laddoos is underway at Mani Ram Das Chhawni in Ayodhya ahead of foundation stone laying ceremony.

Priests on Friday dispatched the soil of the Yamunotri Dham, water of the Yamuna river and the Brahma Kamal flower that grows in the Himalayan region for the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Soil was collected from the holy "Agnitheertham" sea by a pro-Hindu outfit and others and sent to Ayodhya on Thursday to be used in the construction of the Ram temple.

On Thursday, some priests, functionaries of Hindu Munnani and locals gathered sand from the sea, held special pujas, packed it in a gold-plated box and sent it to Ayodhya to be used in the construction of the temple, the outfit said. The soil was sent by post. (Representational image)

Holy water from Triveni Sangamam or Mukkudal of Kanyakumari and Cauvery river and sacred soil from Tamil Nadu have been sent to Ayodhya where the 'Bhoomi Pujan' ceremony for Lord Ram's grand temple will be performed.

The soil and water from Sangam -- the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati -- reached Ayodhya on Thursday.

The soil and water were handed over to Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders amidst chanting of mantras on Wednesday. Soil from the Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur has also been sent to Ayodhya for 'Bhoomi Pujan.' (Image source; IANS)
