Anamika Kushwaha, the trainee sub inspector, is believed to have been recruited through Vyapam.
A trainee woman sub inspector reportedly committed suicide at the police training academy on Monday morning.
Anamika Kushwaha, the trainee sub inspector is believed to have been recruited through Vyapam. Her body was found in a pond under mysterious circumstances. It is believed that she jumped to death into the pond on Monday morning at 5 am.
Kushwaha was recruited a few months ago and was staying in a hostel in the Sagar Police Academy in Madhya Pradesh.
Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that not every death should be linked to Vyapam scam.
“Her death is an unfortunate incident but it is not related to the Vyapam scam investigation. Every death should not be linked,” Chouhan said.
According to reports, the trainee cop was mentally stressed which could have triggered the alleged suicide.
"Anamika Kushwaha jumped into the river and died. It is said that she was mentally stressed for the last few days. She gave her exam last year and joined the batch this February,” Jawaharlal Nehru Police Academy ASP Savita Sohane said.
Shortly after the news, Congress leader Digvijay Singh tweeted:

On Saturday, a Delhi investigative journalist Akshay Singh suddenly died when he had gone to interview the family of another deceased in the Vyapam Scam in Madhya Pradesh.
In the last two years, 44 deaths have been reported in connection to the Vyapam Scam.
The Opposition on Sunday mounted pressure for a CBI probe into the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam after the deaths of Akshay Singh, a journalist following the scam and Arun Sharma, a medical college dean assisting in the probe. The BJP, however, is standing by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who was under attack from the Opposition.
The four left parties are planning to hold an All India protest day on July 20 against corruption in high places at the Centre and BJP ruled states. In a joint statement, they said the Vyapam scam has exposed the BJP state government "as having perpetrated one of the worst corruption cases in the state ever. Officially 27 people associated with this case, including nine important witnesses, have died under mysterious circumstances. Important journalists, reporting on the scam, have also been victims of such mysterious deaths. Nearly 47 inexplicable deaths of people connected with this scam in one way or the other have been reported."
