A Draft Cabinet Note circulated by the Indian Railways mentions this giant leap forward in rail safety. The Railway is looking to eliminate 2565 manned level crossings in the busy railway routes (Golden Quadrilateral and Triangle).

Railway plans aggressively to eliminate all the manned level crossings in one single go.

As per draft note, complete financial assistance will be from the Centre and no assistance from states.
