To provide better market access to farmers, the Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to establish marketing facilities at every tehsil headquarters across the state.
    
"The government is establishing marketing facilities at tehsil headquarters for the facilities of farmers as their local products will be procured by the government from their doorstep," state minister for horticulture and floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma said today.
    
Sharma said, the region has high potential for agriculture, horticulture, floriculture, poultry farming, fisheries and animal husbandry, and appealed to the youth to participate in these sectors.
    
"The youth should take up the plantation of cash crops like aloe-vera and marigold flowers. The government provides subsidy of Rs2,200 per kanal on the aloe-vera crop," said Sharma.
