Three suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists from Jammu & Kashmir appeared to have sneaked into the national capital and police have launched a massive manhunt for them.

The Delhi police was informed about the presence of the three terrorists in the capital by the Intelligence Bureau "three-four days" ago and its elite anti-terror wing special cell has launched an operation to nab the trio believed to be hailing from Pampore district, sources said today.

The sources said there were inputs that the three -identified as Bilal Ahmed Bagh, Ibrahim Sheikh and Shahjahan - were spotted in a busy locality in the capital following police have stepped up their efforts.

Posters with their photographs were pasted across the city during the past two days asking people to immediately inform police about them, a senior police official said.

Posters have come up at places like Pragati Maidan where a large number of people are converging for the India International Trade Fair (IITF).

"Intelligence Bureau officials have told us that there was a need to put up posters," the official said.

Last Sunday, Delhi Police had apprehended Abdullah Inquilabi, a self-styled divisional commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, from south Delhi's IIT area. He is believed to have come to Delhi to find a hide-out. Inquilabi hails from Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Investigators said they were probing whether the suspected terrorists were in touch with Inquilabi.

"The Hizb militant had stayed in two-three places in the capital before he was arrested. We want to check whether these people are anyway linked to Inquilabi or whether they gave him shelter," the official said.
