Naxalite killed in Chhattisgarh

A Naxalite has been killed and another arrested with arms following an encounter in Chhattisgarh's Bastar district.

Sudhu Ram, 20, was killed in an encounter in a forest near Warla village in Kanker district in Bastar, superintendent of police Ajay Yadav said adding another Naxalite Rajesh has been arrested.

According to Yadav, the encounter happened when security personnel comprising Border Security Force Jawans were
returning from area domination exercise and were fired at by
the Naxalites near Warla village.

While a Naxalite was killed in retaliatory fire by the police, another one was arrested. Five loaded pistols have been seized from him, he said.

In another encounter in a forest near Dadargarh village in the district, police have seized weapons including SLR rifle from the outlaws. Police also suspect Naxal casualties.
