Naxals wrestled with policemen injuring two of them here and fled with their pistols, police said today.

The incident took place last night when the police, acting on a tip off that People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) actvists, had taken shelter at Laxminagar. Latehar police station in-charge Ravikant Prasad and constable Sunil Kumar reached here and caught two of them, deputy inspector general of police, Raj Kumar Mallick, said.

In the grappling between the police and the Naxals, which had sent them to the ground, the pistols fell and the naxals picked the weapons and fled firing in the air.

Both the policemen suffered minor injuries, Mallick said.
