Over one lakh pilgrims has paid obeisance at the 3,888 metre high Amarnath shrine situated in south Kashmir Himalayas, officials said today.
 
"Over 1,05,000 pilgrims have had darshan of the Ice Ligum of Lord Shiva at 3,888 metre high Amarnath cave shrine till today and the yatra is going on smoothly," Shri Amarnath Shrine Board officials told PTI.
 
All arrangements, including security, are in place to ensure smooth yatra via twin tracks from Pahalagam-Amarnath and Baltal-Amarnath, they said.
 
Over 9,300 pilgrims are enroute the cave shrine through two tracks from Pahalgam and Baltal for the cave shrine, they said.
 
Meanwhile, a fresh batch of 2,300 people today left for base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal in Kashmir for their onward journey to Amarnath, police said.
 
The batch comprising of 1,588 males, 440 females, 60 children and 212 Sadhus left in a convoy of 88 vehicles around 5am and have already crossed Batote area, they said.
