The IMD predicted on Thursday that a low-pressure area forming across the Bay of Bengal could bring heavy rainfall to Gangetic West Bengal over the upcoming weekend. In addition, the weather forecast for several other states for the following four days has been provided by the weather office.
South Asia: Rainfall across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is expected to be light to moderately widespread to widely distributed, with isolated heavy rainfall highly probable until the end of this week. Similar weather is expected for Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, and until Saturday and Sunday, respectively, starting tomorrow.
Whereas, over Jharkhand from Saturday to Monday Bihar on Monday, this weather pattern is likely. Andaman and Nicobar Islands until Saturday; Odisha on Sunday and Monday, Isolated extremely heavy rainfall is very possible.
From now till Saturday, squally weather with winds of 45 to 55 mph with gusts of 65 mph are expected over the Andaman Islands. Today and tomorrow, there will likely be light to moderate rain across Tamil Nadu, with a few isolated regions of heavy rain.
Coastal Karnataka will likely experience rain through Sunday. While interior Karnataka on Friday may have similar weather as Kerala and Mahe from today through Sunday. On Friday and Saturday, Coastal Karnataka is extremely likely to have isolated very heavy rainfall.
The Konkan-Goa region of West India is expected to see mild to moderately heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning through Sunday. Madhya Maharashtra will experience the same conditions from today through Saturday. Over the Konkan - Goa region until Saturday and in Madhya Maharashtra tomorrow, isolated very heavy rains are very probable.
From Saturday through Monday, Central India is expected to see light to moderately heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning, with isolated heavy rainfall highly possible across Chhattisgarh. Northeast India: Today and tomorrow, Assam and Meghalaya will likely have light to moderate broad to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning, with isolated heavy rainfall being highly likely.
