New industrial area in pipeline after 15 years: Ashok Jain

Applauding the efforts of industrialists,  Ashok Jain said that despite few facilities,  industries are doing well and has helped Jodhpur establish itself in the world. He was speaking during his visit to Jodhpur for the first time after becoming the chief secretary of the state on Sunday.

Jain was apprised of the problems faced by industrialists especially in various industries, including handicraft, steel and lime. He said that new industrial area will be developed after 15 years in Jodhpur, but the prices of land in such areas are so high that they are difficult to buy in the prevailing situation.

The industrialists expressed their objection on forcibly organising the Western Rajasthan Industry Fair by RAJSICO, because since years it has been  jointly held by the district administration and Industries Association.

On this, Jain gave assurance of giving opportunity to the industries association after finding out what exactly the matter is. Mayor Ghanshyam Ojha, chairman of Industries Association Prakash Jirawala, vice president Om Prakash Lohia, senior industrialist Shri Gopal Sabu, Ghewarchand Kanungo, Kishanlal Garg, Aashram Dhoot and others apprised Jain of the problems faced by industries.

Jain will discuss the development of the city during a meeting with officials on Monday and will also review the progress of government schemes of each department.

Jain became emotional  during his first visit to his home town Jodhpur after becoming the chief secretary of the state and said that fond memories of childhood,  studying in engineering college and spending formative years in the city are still fresh in his mind. Moreover, all the officials including divisional commissioner Ratanlal Lahoti, commissioner Ashok Kumar Rathod gave him a warm welcome. He was  also given the guard of honor there.
