Match over
1.4 : 1.4: K Rabada to R Sharma, FOUR! Crisp and in the gap! Rabada is guilty of bowling it a little too full, Rohit creams it through covers and the ball races to the fence. First boundary of the game.
3.2 : 3.2: C Morris to R Sharma, EDGY FOUR! Full marks to the bowler but runs to the batsman. Length and on off, Rohit looks for the hoick across the line but due to the low bounce, he gets an inside edge which goes close past the leg stump and to the fine leg fence.
3.4 : 3.4: C Morris to de Kock, FOUR! Full toss and put away! Second boundary in the over. On off, de Kock strokes it past mid off and it races away.
3.6 : 3.6: C Morris to de Kock, SIX! He has nailed this cross-batted shot! This was once again on the shorter side but on the body. De Kock feeds on such deliveries, he pulls it with aplomb over the square leg fence. First of the game and expensive first by Morris, 16 from it.
4.3 : 4.3: I Sharma to R Sharma, FOUR! Not sure Rohit intended it to go there. Actually replays show he did intend to hit it there. Length and outside off, Sharma slaps it past mid off and the ball races away to the fence. Mumbai off to a very good start.
5.3: K Paul to de Kock, SIX! Into the stands! Once again a length which de Kock just loves. Short and on the body. He picks it up and sends it sailing into the square leg stands.
5.6 : 5.6: K Paul to R Sharma, SIX! It is also a NO BALL! Poor bowling by Paul. He bowls a high, very high full toss. Rohit smashes it over square leg for a biggie. The next ball is a Free Hit.
6.1 : 6.1: A Mishra to R Sharma, OUT! TIMBER! Amit Mishra strikes straightaway! A poor shot by Rohit to be honest. Mishra bowls this flatter, lands it on middle and gets it to turn away a little. Sharma is rooted to his crease, he first tries to play it on the leg side but then tries to adjust to the turn by playing it with a straight bat. It is too late by then as the ball beats the outside edge and hits the stumps. Amit Mishra is delighted and an excellent bowling change by Iyer. Rohit does have a w
7.5 : 7.5: A Patel to Ben Cutting, OUT! Cutting is a goner! That is as plumb as it gets. This is flatter and on middle, Cutting looks to sweep but misses. It hits him on the pads. An appeal and the umpire raises the finger. Two quick wickets for Delhi and they are right back in the contest. Cutting's comeback into the team is not a good one.
8.6 : 8.6: A Mishra to de Kock, FOUR! Pace on the ball and it has been put away! This is fired in, full and on off. De Kock whips it in the gap in the mid-wicket region and bags a boundary. So despite the boundary, only 7 runs from the over.
9.5 : 9.5: A Patel to S Yadav, OUT! A big mix-up and de Kock is out of here! This is probably the last thing Mumbai would have wanted, de Kock was really playing well out there but he has to walk back. This is fired outside off, Yadav cuts it to the left of Rabada at point. De Kock feels there is a run and sets off. Rabada though gets to the ball quickly. Seeing that, Yadav refuses for the single. It is too late though as de Kock is right next to him. Kagiso throws it to the keeper who lobs it to the
10.1 : 10.1: A Mishra to S Yadav, FOUR! A very clever shot! Yadav is quickly down on one knee and instead of a paddle sweep, he plays a paddle scoop, over the keeper's head and into fence.
13.3 : 13.3: K Rabada to S Yadav, FOUR! Excellent shot! Slightly short and it is the slower one. Yadav waits for it, arches and then upper cuts it over the keeper's head. Rabada's pace would probably be a little suitable for the batsmen on this wicket.
15.1 : 15.1: K Rabada to S Yadav, OUT! Caught behind! A good catch by Pant there. Yadav looks to be innovative but those are brilliant when they come off and ugly when they don't. This time it does not come off. He tries to play the paddle scoop but Rabada seeing that, bowls it outside off. SKY still continues with the shot, it though goes off the toe-end to the right of Pant who takes it with a dive. The set Yadav is out, just at the wrong time for Mumbai.
15.4 : 15.4: K Rabada to K Pandya, FOUR! Poor line and it has been put away! Down the leg side, easy pickings for Krunal. He flicks it to fine leg and the ball races away.
16.6 : 16.6: C Morris to K Pandya, FOUR! That has been brilliantly squeezed out! This is very full and outside off, Krunal just opens the face at the very end and hits it past the diving point fielder for a boundary. Morris bowled the seam-up delivery on the last ball. Maybe that is not the way to go on this surface.
17.2 : 17.2: K Paul to K Pandya, FOUR! Cheeky! Brilliantly played! This was on middle and he has managed to get to the third man fence. Once again a seam-up ball going for a boundary. It is on middle, Krunal stays leg side of the delivery and just opens the face. It beats the fielder at short third man and into the fence. Boundary early in the over.
17.4 : 17.4: K Paul to H Pandya, FOUR! Stand and deliver! Full and on middle, Pandya stands tall and whips it to the mid-wicket fence. Second boundary in the over.
17.5 : 17.5: K Paul to H Pandya, SIX! That is out of here! Massive! This is guy can probably hit anything over the ropes at the moment. It is the slower one, it is full and on off, he picks it, waits for it and tonks it over the long off fence.
18.5: C Morris to H Pandya, SIX! He's in unbelievable form, isn't he? Superb hit from Hardik Pandya. It's a low full toss on middle and leg as Morris misses the attempted yorker, Hardik flicks it with his strong wrists and dumps it into the backward square leg stands.
18.6 : 18.6: C Morris to H Pandya, FOUR! Finishes the over in fine fashion. 15 from it. Mumbai really accelerating here in the final few overs. High full toss and Hardik shuffles across quickly. He hits this fine down the leg side and ends the over with a boundary. Morris had bowled a good over, but these last two balls have ruined that.
19.2 : 19.2: K Rabada to H Pandya, SIX! This guy has such a strong forearm. My word, how has he hit that for a biggie. That is full and on middle, Hardik Pandya brings out the helicopter shot, he connects it right off the middle and it flies over the long on fence. 8 from the first two balls.
19.3 : 19.3: K Rabada to H Pandya, OUT! In the air... taken! Rabada has the last laugh but a brilliant innings from Hardik. He has provided the much-needed impetus. Rabada changes his length and bangs it short on middle, too quick for the younger Pandya who looks to pull but only manages a top edge. It goes to the left of Pant who takes an easy catch.
19.4 : 19.4: K Rabada to K Pandya, FOUR! In the gap! Fuller in length and on middle, the batter whips it through mid-wicket. It is away from the fielder in the deep and a boundary results. The last over too is turning out to be a big one.
19.5 : 19.5: K Rabada to K Pandya, FOUR! Another full toss and another boundary! 17 from the over with a ball to go. This is outside off. Pandya carves it through point and it goes to the point fence.
0.2 : 0.2: H Pandya to P Shaw, FOUR! Prithvi is underway in style! Short and wide outside off, Shaw cuts it through point and the ball races away to the fence. Poor ball and it was meant to be put away.
0.3 : 0.3: H Pandya to P Shaw, FOUR! Poor bowling this! They placed the covers on the boundary and Hardik ends up bowling on the pads. Shaw works it to the fine leg fence. Consecutive boundaries.
1.2 : 1.2: R Chahar to S Dhawan, FOUR! On leg and punished. A flighted delivery on leg, Dhawan gets his one knee down and strokes it away to mid-wicket for a boundary.
1.4 : 1.4: R Chahar to S Dhawan, FOUR! Another sweep by Dhawan. Chahar is not learning, pitching this around leg, Dhawan gets on one knee and with ease sweeps it down to mid-wicket for another boundary.
2.3 : 2.3: L Malinga to S Dhawan, FOUR! Class by Dhawan. Malinga rolling his fingers on this one. Width offered by him. Dhawan makes full use of it, he firmly plants his front leg and drives this towards the covers region for boundary.
2.5 : 2.5: L Malinga to S Dhawan, FOUR! Dhawan making full use of fielding restrictions. A length delivery on off, Shikhar Dhawan comes down the track and lifts it above covers for a one bounce boundary.
3.6 : 3.6: J Yadav to S Dhawan, SIX! Can't as Dhawan has hit that into the stands. Yadav tosses this one up on middle, Dhawan gets to the pitch of the ball and sends it sailing into the long on stand. 10 from the over and Delhi too are off to a flier.
5.5 : 5.5: J Yadav to S Dhawan, FOUR! Easy pickings for Dhawan. This is bowled full and on the pads. Dhawan whips it over the mid-wicket fielder. No one in the deep so a boundary.
6.3 : 6.3: R Chahar to S Dhawan, OUT! Chahar strikes! A wicket immediately after the break. A tad unfortunate but Mumbai won't care. Dhawan tries to continue his attacking approach as he looks to reverse sweep. He first gets hit on the pads. The bowler in the meantime starts appealing. The umpire shakes his head as the ball seems to be pitching outside leg. However, at the other end, de Kock starts celebrating as the ball hits the glove and ricochets onto the stumps. A big wicket, this, as Dhawan was
8.3: R Chahar to P Shaw, OUT! Shaw holes out! This was coming, wasn't it? He just could not get going and tried to break the shackles. He uses his feet but does not get to the pitch of the ball. He still continues with the shot but ends up hitting it straight to long on where Hardik Pandya takes an easy catch. Chahar gets his second and Delhi in trouble here.
9.4 : 9.4: K Pandya to C Munro, OUT! TIMBER! Another one bites the dust! It is Munro this time who is walking back. Krunal strikes in his first over itself. Delhi slip further. This is extremely full, almost in the blockhole. Munro fails to jam it out but misses. The off stump is disturbed. Delhi need 108 runs in 62 balls.
10.2 : 10.2: R Chahar to S Iyer, OUT! Bowled 'em! Rahul Chahar is having a ball out there. Amazing. Picks up his third of the night. That's a perfect leg break, gets rid of the Delhi skipper Iyer. He lands it on middle, quite slow through the air. Nice shape in first before it turns away. Iyer hangs his bat out to defend but it goes past the outside edge and disturbs the stumps behind. Delhi in trouble now, this isn't looking good for them.
13.5 : 13.5: J Bumrah to R Pant, OUT! CASTLED! There goes Delhi's final hope, if there was one. Brilliant delivery from Bumrah. He comes from around the wicket and angles it into the off pole. Pant looks to play it with a straight bat but does not cover the angle and also leaves a gap between bat and pad. The ball sneaks through and uproots the off pole. Bumrah is pumped and no heroics from Pant this time around.
14.6 : 14.6: L Malinga to A Patel, FOUR! Patel goes aerial. A fuller length delivery on off, Patel lifts it above the cover region for a boundary.
15.1 : 15.1: J Bumrah to C Morris, SIX! Straight as an arrow! Slightly fuller and on middle, Morris just lifts it with ease over the bowler's head and it goes all the way. Need a few more.
16.1: L Malinga to A Patel, SIX! Axar has picked the bones out of this one! It is the slower one but it is right in the slot. Patel lofts it over the long on fence. They need to keep going.
16.6 : 16.6: L Malinga to C Morris, OUT! Malinga gets his first! The slower one does the trick. It is very full and hence, Morris does not get under it. He hits it flat towards long on, Hardik Pandya there takes a neat catch.
17.1 : 17.1: J Bumrah to A Patel, OUT! RUN OUT! Keemo Paul bags a diamond duck! No. 7 down for the hosts. A back of a length delivery on off, Axar stand tall and taps it beside the wicket. Paul sets off but Patel is not interested. Keemo is at the point of no return. Bumrah gets to the ball quickly, he keeps his calm, does not rush, takes aim and then throws down the stumps at the non-striker's end.
17.2 : 17.2: J Bumrah to A Patel, OUT! KABOOM! The middle stump has gone for a walk. Length and on middle, Axar makes room and then looks to cut. He misses and the furniture behind is disturbed.
19.2: H Pandya to K Rabada, SIX! Rabada nails this one! Short and on middle, Rabada goes for the pull, this time he connects and it is in the crowd in the mid-wicket stands. However, even 4 more of these won't make a difference.
19.4 : 19.4: H Pandya to K Rabada, OUT! Pollard makes no mistake this time. Hardik bowls it wide outside off. Rabada throws his bat at it. Hits it decently but does not get the distance. Pollard from long off runs to his right and takes it.
