Commentary :
1.0 :

Rising Pune Supergiants have scored 5 off the first over. But did I just hear Navjot Singh Sidhu make a controversial statement on air? He said that Gujarat and Pune teams are 'old wine in new bottle'.

DJ Bravo to K Pietersen, 6 runs, 47/1

12.1 :

This is why Faf du Plessis is very crucial for Pune tonight.

16.2 :

OUT. Two quick wickets. Actually three. After Kevin Pietersen, Faf du Plessis and Steve Smith also fall. At 134/4, the Pune innings has suddenly hit a roadblock. Just 23 runs off the last 20 balls as well. Now they have to target 175 only.

2.3 :
8.4 :

Pune are in assault mode at the moment. 78 off 8 overs. Kevin Pietersen looks in fantastic form. It's good to see him looking this good. Can Pune get 200 today? Some good running as well and not-so-good fielding on the fence so far.

At 111/1 in 13 overs, Pune Supergiants MUST aim for 190 . Gujarat will hope to keep them under 175. A couple of wickets and some slower ball wide yorkers may be the order of the day.

Kevin Pietersen has been considerably sedate, scoring 37 off 29 balls. du Plessis has reached his fifty and is looking the more aggressive of the two. But we have a suspicion that Pietersen's wicket matters more here.

Here's some fair play from the game. Nice sportsmanship

3.5 :

GONE! Ajinkya Rahane is gone, he played back to a ball he should have come forth to. Unusual dismissal for Rahane this, he doesn't usually fail with technique. Looked really ordinary.

A funny slide by the fielder in the deep gets Pietersen his first boundary. He slid in the manner in which someone comes down a slide, not with his hands in front. Nice comic timing.

This is why Faf du Plessis is very crucial for Pune tonight.

13.6 :

OUT. Kevin Pietersen has played on off a low and slow full toss. Dwayne Bravo is once again the rescue man. He does a familiar Champion Dance for everyone's pleasure. Gujarat are back in the game. Steve Smith is the new batsman.
