0.0 : It is time for the second and the final T20I of this series between India and Australia. The first game went down to the wire and it saw the visitors take an unassailable lead with a win. Finch and co. would now be eager to win their first T20I series in India. The hosts on the other hand, would want to get back to winning ways. They are on a two-game losing streak in this format and would want to change that here tonight. Also, they would love to head in the ODI series with winning momentum. Th
PITCH REPORT - Sunil Gavaskar and Murali Karthik doing the pitch report mention that there is fair amount of grass on the pitch and add that the ball will zip through. Say that there are cracks on the surface as well which will aid the spinners to get grip and turn. Reckon that the ball should come on the bat. End by saying that the average score has come down from 200 to 180.
Toss - Up goes the coin and it lands in the favor of Australia. They will bowl first.
Australian skipper, Aaron Finch, says it looks like a really good wicket and he hopes they can chase down whatever target is set. States they back themselves to chase it down later on and he feels if there is something for the bowlers, it will be early on. Further adds they were outplayed by India in Australia but are eager to win the series here. Ends by saying there are no changes for them today.
Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, says that he would have bowled first as well. Mentions that he is happy to bat as the pitch won't change much. Adds that the wicket has been the same since the last three years, just like the old Bengaluru surface. Credits the bowling in the last match. On the team news he says that he has three changes. Rohit, Yadav and Mayank make way for Dhawan, Kaul and Shankar.
We are all set for the action to begin! The Australian players make their way out to the middle. They are followed by the Indian openers, Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul. Jason Behrendorff has the new ball in hand. Here we go...
0.1 : J Behrendorff to L Rahul, Starts off right on the money! No swing though. Good length and around off, Rahul waits for the ball to come to him and then just opens the face and guides it down to third man for a run. India and Rahul are underway.
0.2 : J Behrendorff to S Dhawan, Good length again around off, gets this one to shape away just a bit. Dhawan goes back and keeps it out.
0.3 : J Behrendorff to S Dhawan, A little too straight this time, Dhawan has his front pad planted way too across, hence, he fails to flick. It hits his pads, rolls towards square leg. The batsmen take a leg bye.
0.4 : J Behrendorff to L Rahul, Another one a little too straight, Rahul nudges it to the man at mid-wicket.
0.5 : J Behrendorff to L Rahul, On the pads once again but only a single. Rahul flicks it through square leg, there is a fielder in the deep who keeps it down to one.
0.6 : J Behrendorff to S Dhawan, Good nut to end the first over! On off and on a length, straightens a touch. Dhawan looks to defend but it goes off the outer half towards point. A tight beginning by JB. Just what you can expect off him.
Jhye Richardson to bowl from the other end.
1.1 : J Richardson to L Rahul, Good shape away there! The line though is slightly outside off, Rahul does not go chasing after it as he points his bat skywards.
1.2 : J Richardson to L Rahul, Leading edge but safe! Cramps the batsman for room by bowling it closer to the body, it straightens a touch though. Rahul looks to flick but gets a soft leading edge to point.
1.3 : J Richardson to L Rahul, Too straight this time, Rahul flicks it through mid-wicket. Short at deep square leg, quickly gets across to his left and keeps it down to one.
1.4 : J Richardson to S Dhawan, Good back foot punch there but finds point. On the shorter side and outside off, Dhawan goes back and punches it to point.
1.5 : J Richardson to S Dhawan, Uses his feet but Jhye spots that. He shortens the length. Dhawan adjusts and guides it to point. Just one from the over so far, can he end it well?
1.6 : J Richardson to S Dhawan, Yes, he can! A dot to end! Just a single from this over. On middle and it is slightly shorter, Dhawan pushes it back to the bowler.
2.1 : J Behrendorff to L Rahul, FOUR! Short, wide and it has been put away! First boundary in this innings. Width on offer outside off, Rahul slaps it through cover-point. No fielder in the deep and it races across the fence.
2.2 : J Behrendorff to L Rahul, Guilty of bowling a little too straight, Rahul though finds the man at deep square leg with a flick. Just a single. Could have been two boundaries in two balls, Rahul must have felt he missed out there.
2.3 : J Behrendorff to S Dhawan, FOUR! Dhawan gets into the act now. First boundary for him. He dances down the track, the length is not the one he wanted but the line is on his pads. He flicks it over mid-wicket for the second boundary in the over. 9 from the first three.
2.4 : J Behrendorff to S Dhawan, Uses his feet again but the line is outside off, it is guided through point for a single.
2.5 : J Behrendorff to L Rahul, Another single as it is nudged around the corner. Sensible batting.
2.6 : J Behrendorff to S Dhawan, Good running! Works it with the angle towards mid-wicket for a run. So just three from the last three balls but 12 from the over.
Nathan Coulter-Nile to bowl his first over. He was very good in the previous T20I.
3.1 : N Coulter-Nile to S Dhawan, Pitches it on middle, it skids through after pitching. Dhawan tucks it on the leg side.
3.2 : N Coulter-Nile to S Dhawan, OUCH! That must have hurt! Slightly shorter in length, Dhawan looks to pull but the ball is onto him before he expects it to. It hits him around the box. He is in some pain now.
The physio is out and Dhawan is taking a breather. Rightly so. He is fine to continue now.
3.3 : N Coulter-Nile to S Dhawan, Bumper but too high! Short and around off, Dhawan looks to upper cut it very late. He misses. The umpire signals it as a wide.
N Coulter-Nile to S Dhawan, Two wides in a row! Slower ball and down the leg side. Dhawan looks to flick but misses. A harsh call you can say, that was pretty close to the leg stump.
N Coulter-Nile to S Dhawan, Good running! On middle, Dhawan tries to defend it with soft hands, it goes off the inner half and on the pads. Rolls towards point for a run.
3.4 : N Coulter-Nile to L Rahul, FOUR! Poor bowling, especially with the man inside the ring! Short and on the body, Rahul just helps it on its way over the fielder at short fine leg for a boundary. This is turning out to be another good over for the Indians. 7 from it, two balls to go.
3.5 : N Coulter-Nile to L Rahul, Another short ball around off, Rahul looks to cut but the ball is too close to play that shot. He gets it off the inner half towards mid on.
3.6 : N Coulter-Nile to L Rahul, A single to end! 8 from this one and 20 from the last two. Shortish around off again, Rahul guides it down to third man for a run. India looking to get a move on now.
Change of ends for Jhye Richardson.
4.1 : J Richardson to L Rahul, Goes wide of the crease and angles it in on off, Rahul keeps it out. Jhye has really started well here, not given anything to the batsman to get under or any sort of width to free his hands. Tight bowling.
4.2 : J Richardson to L Rahul, Again! Attacks the off pole, Rahul plays it late down on the off side and changes ends.
4.3 : J Richardson to S Dhawan, Lovely shot and excellently fielded! Nothing wrong with the delivery, it is on a length and just outside off. Dhawan opens the face and guides it between point and cover-point. He almost found the gap but Short at the latter position dives and saves at least a couple for his side.
4.4 : J Richardson to L Rahul, TOP EDGE BUT SIX! Full marks to the bowler but runs to the batsman. A good short ball, it was quick and well-directed. Rahul goes for the pull but the ball takes the top edge and flies into the stands. First of the game.
4.5 : J Richardson to L Rahul, SIX! Back-to-back maximums! This one was right off the middle and very delightful to the eye. Just a little fuller on off, Rahul lofts it over cover and it travels all the way. Trademark Rahul there.
4.6 : J Richardson to L Rahul, Now guides it down to third man and keeps strike for the next over. The change of ends for Jhye turned out to be a bad idea as he has been hit for 15. India now going along at a good rate after the first two tight overs.
Pat Cummins to bowl the last over of the Powerplay.
5.1 : Pat Cummins to L Rahul, Short and on middle, Rahul nudges it towards mid-wicket and gets to the other end. Excellent running.
5.2 : Pat Cummins to S Dhawan, Dhawan shuffles across but Cummins sticks to bowling it on off. Dhawan looks to help it over short fine leg but it hits the glove and rolls to that fielder.
5.3 : Pat Cummins to S Dhawan, The pull shot has been nailed there but straight to deep square leg. Only a single. The first half of the 6th over belongs to Australia.
5.4 : Pat Cummins to L Rahul, SIX! Third for Rahul! How easy was that? It was a length ball by Cummins, coming in with the angle. Rahul nonchalantly flicks it over mid-wicket and it goes all the way. Shot of the night so far. The second half of this over has started extremely well for the Indians.
5.5 : Pat Cummins to L Rahul, SIX! It keeps getting better! Dealing in sixes is Rahul. A bumper on the body, Rahul swivels and pulls it over the square leg fence for a biggie. One ball to go, can he make it three in three?
5.6 : Pat Cummins to L Rahul, No he can't! He is hurt! On the middle stump, it is shorter in length. Rahul looks to flick but misses. He gets hit on the box and is down on the ground now. However, another good over for the Indians and end of an excellent Powerplay for India. They are 53 for 0 after it.
Adam Zampa is on now.
6.1 : A Zampa to S Dhawan, The slider outside off, Dhawan drives it square on the off side. Finch at point dives to his left and stops it well. Just a single.
6.2 : A Zampa to L Rahul, FOUR! Bad delivery and it has been put away! Down the leg side, all Rahul had to do is get bat on ball. He does so, hits it fine on the leg side and a boundary.
6.3 : A Zampa to L Rahul, Rahul charges down but Zampa bowls it very full. Rahul hits it hard back towards him, he fumbles and a run is conceded.
6.4 : A Zampa to S Dhawan, Uses his feet and Zampa fires it in. It is whipped towards long on for a run.
6.5 : A Zampa to L Rahul, Slower through the air on off, Rahul guides it to point.
6.6 : A Zampa to L Rahul, A single to end Zampa's first. 8 from this one as Rahul strokes it through covers for a run.
Nathan Coulter-Nile is back on.
7.1 : N Coulter-Nile to L Rahul, OUT! In the air... taken! A soft, soft dismissal there. Rahul is very disappointed with himself and rightly so. Catching practice this from KL. Coulter-Nile bangs it short and outside off. Rahul plays an upper cut despite a third man being there. He does not get it as fine as he wanted to and it goes towards Richardson who runs in and takes a neat catch. A much-needed wicket for Australia and the opening stand which was looking dangerous has been broken. Good bowl
0.0 : Virat Kohli is in at no. 3.
7.2 : N Coulter-Nile to V Kohli, Full and wide outside off, Kohli flashes at it and the ball goes towards third man. Jhye runs to his left and keeps it to one.
7.3 : N Coulter-Nile to S Dhawan, Back of a length on off, Dhawan pushes it to mid off.
7.4 : N Coulter-Nile to S Dhawan, Short and on middle, Dhawan is hurried into the pull shot. He mistimes it through square leg.
7.5 : N Coulter-Nile to V Kohli, Good length and outside off, Kohli slaps it through covers and takes a run.
7.6 : N Coulter-Nile to S Dhawan, On the pads, Dhawan fails to put bat on ball. It hits his pads and rolls towards square leg. A leg bye taken. Just the four runs and a wicket from this over. Australia needed such an over and Coulter-Nile has provided it.
8.1 : A Zampa to S Dhawan, The googly around middle, Dhawan pushes it towards cover and gets to the other end.
8.2 : A Zampa to V Kohli, Leg spinner outside off, tapped towards the off side by Kohli.
8.3 : A Zampa to V Kohli, On the pads, Virat turns his bat to the on side and wants the run. He is rightly sent back by his partner.
8.4 : A Zampa to V Kohli, A tad short on middle and leg, pulled away to cow corner for just one.
8.5 : A Zampa to S Dhawan, Short again, Dhawan stays back and pulls this through square leg to get off strike.
Direct hit! Is Kohli short or Has the dive saved him? Big moment in the gap.
8.6 : A Zampa to V Kohli, NOT OUT! The dive saves Kohli! The ball was a bit short on leg. Kohli pulls it through mid-wicket and takes a quick single. Jhye at the boundary has the slightest of fumbles and Virat comes back for the second. Richardson hits bulls eye at the striker's end but VK's dive saves him.
Jason Behrendorff is back on.
9.1 : J Behrendorff to S Dhawan, Swing and a miss! Shortish and on middle, some extra bounce on that one. Dhawan looks to pull by taking his eyes off the ball but misses.
0.0 : Has Stoinis taken it cleanly. He is confident. The SOFT SIGNAL IS OUT!
9.2 : J Behrendorff to S Dhawan, OUT! The umpire feels Stoinis has his fingers underneath the ball and has given it in the fielding team's favor. I feel the soft signal has played a big part here as that could have gone either way. However, one can say, it is the right decision in the end. End of Dhawan's misery and India have lost both their openers in quick succession. Once again, the bowling change does the trick for the visitors. Behrendorff bowls it outside off and it is on a length. It is t
Rishabh Pant is the new man in.

9.6 : J Behrendorff to V Kohli, Good running. Slower ball on the stumps, Kohli taps it with soft hands towards the gully region and sets off for a run. Just three runs off the 10th over. India are 73/2 at the halfway mark.
D'Arcy Short is into the attack now.
10.1 : D Short to V Kohli, Half tracker on off, Kohli does not make full use of it and pulls it to deep mid-wicket for a run.
10.2 : D Short to R Pant, Quicker one outside off, cut away but not past the man at point.
10.3 : D Short to R Pant, Pant cannot find the gap again. Cuts hard but finds Maxwell at point yet again.
10.4 : D Short to R Pant, Leg spinner outside off, Pant misses cut this time. Good over so far from Short.
10.5 : D Short to R Pant, OUT! What a catch that is! Jhye Richardson take a bow! Pant is now walking back and all of a sudden, India are in trouble here. Once again the bowling change has worked wonders. The sequence of dot balls increased the pressure on Pant. He tried to go downtown but mistimes his shot completely. He still might have thought, he would get away with it but Richardson at long off runs to his left, dives full stretch and takes it. Pin-drop silence at the moment here and the Aust
Big cheers in the crowd as MS Dhoni walks out to bat.

11.1 : A Zampa to V Kohli, Leg spinner on off, Virat pulls it through mid-wicket for a single.
0.0 : OUT? A stumping appeal has been taken up. Has Dhoni got back in time?
11.2 : A Zampa to MS Dhoni, NOT OUT! Yes, he has! Only Dhoni can stump Dhoni out. Zampa sees Dhoni charging out and fires in a quick one outside off. Dhoni misses it and Handscomb takes off the bails. They take it up but replays show us that Dhoni's elasticity and stretching helps him get back in.
11.3 : A Zampa to MS Dhoni, Outside off, Dhoni drives it to covers but finds the man stationed there.
11.4 : A Zampa to MS Dhoni, Fuller on off, Dhoni hits it hard towards long off. They cross.

12.1 : D Short to V Kohli, On the shorter side, Kohli whips it through mid on. Long runs to his right and keeps it down to one.

12.5 : D Short to MS Dhoni, Fires this outside off, Dhoni hits it hard to the man at sweeper cover for a run.

13.4 : Pat Cummins to MS Dhoni, FOUR! That has been bludgeoned! Full and on off, Dhoni has smashed it past mid off and it reaches the fence in a jiffy. India on the charge now.
13.5 : Pat Cummins to MS Dhoni, Tucks the batsman up by bowling it on his body, Dhoni clips it to fine leg for a run.
13.6 : Pat Cummins to V Kohli, Shortish again and outside off, Kohli hits it uppishly but through covers for a run. Another productive over for India.
Jhye Richardson to bowl.
14.1 : J Richardson to V Kohli, Goes wide outside off, Kohli throws his bat at it. It takes the outside edge and goes towards third man for a run. 100 up for India, 35 legal balls more to go.
14.2 : J Richardson to MS Dhoni, FOUR! Really poor from Jhye. He bowls it short and outside off with third man and point up. Dhoni says thank you so much. He cuts it over the fielder in the latter position and bags a boundary.
14.3 : J Richardson to MS Dhoni, Learns from his mistake and bowls it on the stumps, it is pushed down to long off for a run.
14.4 : J Richardson to V Kohli, SIX! Majestic from Kohli. He makes room and gets a length ball. He just lofts it over covers. The timing is such that it goes all the way. Already 12 from the over. 2 balls to go.
14.5 : J Richardson to V Kohli, Brilliant piece of fielding! Saves two for his side. Outside off, Kohli swings but gets an outside edge. It goes to the right of Zampa at third man. He runs and then dives and pushes it away. Two saved by him. 14 from the over so far. A ball to go, can they make it a 20 run over or a 18 run over?
14.6 : J Richardson to V Kohli, No, they can't! A dot to finish! Still a very good one for India. Jhye bowls it full and wide outside off. Kohli tries to go over covers but misses. Kohli lets out a huge grunt after that as he knew a boundary opportunity goes abegging there.
Nathan Coulter-Nile to bowl the 16th over.
15.1 : N Coulter-Nile to MS Dhoni, A two to begin the 16th! Slower short ball, Dhoni waits for it and then pulls it through backward square leg for two.
15.2 : N Coulter-Nile to MS Dhoni, Another slower one outside off, Dhoni does not get the timing right on this one. It goes off the inner half towards long on for a run.
15.3 : N Coulter-Nile to V Kohli, SIX! Out of here! The seam-up ball this time and Nathan pays the price. It is on middle, Kohli flicks it over the fielder at mid-wicket and over the fence too.
15.4 : N Coulter-Nile to V Kohli, SIX! This is even better than the last one. Brings up the 50-run stand and in some style. The length ball outside off, Kohli just lofts it with a straight bat over covers and it is into the stands. Just 29 balls is what it took to bring it up. They need to continue though of India need to post a big total here.
15.5 : N Coulter-Nile to V Kohli, SIX! Hat-trick of sixes! Once again it is the flick shot which has gotten Kohli the maximum result. Uses his feet and with the angle lofts it over the mid-wicket fence. 4 in a row?
15.6 : N Coulter-Nile to V Kohli, No! But it could have been! Kohli may have been surprised by the full toss as he just nudges it around the corner for a run. 22 runs from the over and 36 from the last two. 4 over to go, 45 more runs for 180. If the two stay out there, it is surely on the cards.

16.4 : A Zampa to V Kohli, Two dots in a row! A rarity since the two joined association. Slower through the air on off, Kohli opens the face and guides it to point.
16.5 : A Zampa to V Kohli, Fifty for Kohli. The captain has risen to the occasion in this must-win encounter. He played himself in at the start but has stepped on the gas now. His 20th in this format. He needs to be there till the end. He works this through mid-wicket and gets to the other end.
16.6 : A Zampa to MS Dhoni, A dot to end Zampa's spell! Just the three from his last over. His figures reads 4-0-23-0. Lovely stuff from the leggie. The slider and outside off was his last ball, Dhoni cuts it to point.

J Richardson to V Kohli, SIX! Misses the yorker and pays the price. Right in the zone this one. Full and on off, Kohli lofts it over the long off fence for a biggie.

18.5 : J Richardson to V Kohli, Brilliant running, excellent shot and lovely ball too. Good cricket all-around. A low full toss outside off, Kohli manages to squeeze it through point. 91 runs in the last 6 overs and India have finished with a huge total here. They will surely walk off as the happier side.
After being inserted, the Indian openers got them off to a very good start by adding 61. Kl Rahul was the dominant partner but his wicket led to two more. Australia then enjoyed a good passage of play as the runs started to choke and India seemed to be losing their way a little. However, Kohli and Dhoni then decided to put their foot down and started hitting everything off the middle. The tonked the bowlers to all the sides of the park. The skipper ended with an unbeaten 72 of just 38 whereas, D
The Aussie bowlers started off really well but could not finish well. Zampa had a really good day at the office, Jason too. The rest however, were taken to the cleaners. Especially, the three quicks, Cummins, Richardson and Coulter-Nile who had economy rates of above 10.
KL Rahul is caught down with an interview. He mentions that he is pleased to have runs in his kitty. Says that he has worked hard and is happy to see the results. Reckons that he had time to work on his game when he was away from the team and adds that he is in a good head space. States that he tries to keep his game simple as he is a gifted cricketer.
Now then 190 is the target! Chasable? The wicket is a lovely one and the boundaries are short but Australia will have to bat really well. Defendable? Surely! The Indians though will rely more their spinners to do the job for them. Will the Indians level the series or will the visitors win it? Join us to find out in a while.
