0.0 : DRINKS! Punjab have done well in these starting exchanges and are looking good. Mumbai, on the other hand, have lost a few quick wickets but they won't be too worried as they have a deep batting line up and they have Rohit Sharma and last match's hero Ishan Kishan out there. Krishnappa Gowtham will bowl now for Punjab.

A run out appeal has been taken upstairs! Rohit seems in.
9.5 : Krishnappa Gowtham to Rohit Sharma, A direct hit and it would have been curtains for Rohit! It is shorter and outside off, Rohit plays it late but straight to point. 10.2 : Ravi Bishnoi to Ishan Kishan, SIX! BOOM! Finally Ishan gets one away and this should make him feel a lot better. He was struggling till now but can this get him going. The slog sweep is out, it is connected brilliantly and dragged over the mid-wicket fence from outside off.
10.3 : Ravi Bishnoi to Ishan Kishan, Struggles for timing again! The googly and outside off, Kishan looks to slap it hard but chops it back to the bowler.

11.2 : James Neesham to Ishan Kishan, DROPPED! Bishnoi did all the hard work to get there but then spills it. A short one, Kishan looks to pull but is late onto the shot. 12.6 : Sheldon Cottrell to Ishan Kishan, Just a single to end Cottrell's spell! Brilliant from him. The last ball is on a length, it is guided towards point for one.
13.1 : Krishnappa Gowtham to Ishan Kishan, OUT! TAKEN! There goes the struggling Kishan! Also, this wicket could well be a blessing in disguise for Mumbai as Kishan was not at all playing fluently. The change to get back Gowtham works. He fires it full and on middle, Kishan brings out the slog sweep but due to it being very full, he fails to get the elevation. He holes out to Nair in the deep.
13.2 : Krishnappa Gowtham to Rohit Sharma, On middle, this is pushed down to long off for one.
0.0 : Kieron Pollard walks out to bat!
13.3 : Krishnappa Gowtham to Kieron Pollard, Quicker and on middle, Pollard works it towards mid-wicket.

14.5 : Ravi Bishnoi to Rohit Sharma, SIX! What a shot! Rohit plays his trademark pull shot and it is beautiful! Flatter ball around middle, Rohit rocks on his back foot and lofts this over the mid-wicket area for a BIG six!
14.6 : Ravi Bishnoi to Rohit Sharma, A dot to end the over as Rohit works this towards the cover region. A good over for Mumbai as they collect 15 runs off it and they will want more of these in the upcoming five overs!
0.0 : Ravi Bishnoi is back!
15.1 : James Neesham to Kieron Pollard, Shorter and angled into the body, it is worked through square leg for one.
15.2 : James Neesham to Rohit Sharma, FOUR! A very innovative way to get your fifty up! A very good innings. He needed to fire today. His side was in a spot of bother and he does. Also, he has gone about slowly till now but we all know he can explode when needed. He looks to play the paddle scoop. He is served a full toss. It is hit towards fine leg for a boundary.
15.3 : James Neesham to Rohit Sharma, FOUR! Another full toss and put away once again! Just an orthodox cricket shot. It is a full toss outside off, Sharma says thank you very much as he caresses it past the diving cover fielder for a boundary.
15.4 : James Neesham to Rohit Sharma, SIX! KABOOM! This is the over Mumbai needed. This is the over which probably changes the momentum. Also, this is a poor ball to Sharma. He loves it short. He rocks back and pulls it well over the square leg fence for a biggie.
15.5 : James Neesham to Rohit Sharma, SIX! Wow! Just wow! Rohit Sharma, what a player, what a pleasure it is to watch him when he plays shots like these. So nonchalant. There is no one in the deep on the off side so he just clears his front leg. Gets a full ball on middle, it is lofted over covers and it goes all the way.
15.6 : James Neesham to Rohit Sharma, Just a single to end but 22 from the over! Fuller and on middle, this is whipped through mid-wicket for one.
Strategic Time-out! It looked like Punjab were in control of this game in the first half of the innings but with players like Rohit Sharma and Pollard in their squad, you can never write off Mumbai and this previous over is just a great example of what damage these two can do. They look like they have decided to turn it on and play some big strokes to end their innings on a high. A 160 or 170 run total looks acheivable and the bowlers of Punjab will really have to step it up if they are to stop
16.1 : Mohammed Shami to Rohit Sharma, OUT! That is a legal catch and Rohit Sharma is out of here! It is Neesham who takes the catch in the end but it is Maxwell who should be given all the credit! Also, Shami gets the big fish and at the right time as Rohit was just starting to unleash. This though was in the slot! It is fuller and on middle, Rohit looks to loft it down the ground towards the long off fence but fails to time it nicely. Maxwell runs to his right, he looks to take it but it almost
0.0 : The third umpire is called into play as the on-field umpires want to make sure that this is a clean catch. Replays roll in and it is clear that this is a clean catch and the dangerous Hit-man Rohit Sharma will have to walk back to the pavilion now.
16.2 : Mohammed Shami to Kieron Pollard, Outside off, this is guided towards point.
0.0 : Hardik Pandya will walk out now to bat for Mumbai, replacing Rohit Sharma.
16.3 : Mohammed Shami to Kieron Pollard, A single now as Pollard guides this down to third man.
16.4 : Mohammed Shami to Hardik Pandya, Pandya is off the mark as he pushes this short ball through covers.
16.5 : Mohammed Shami to Kieron Pollard, Looks to bowl the slower one but it is down the leg side. Wided.
Mohammed Shami to Kieron Pollard, Two! Fuller and outside off, Pollard lofts it over covers and takes two. The fielder did well to run to his right and stop it with a dive.
Kieron Pollard decides to take the review as he thinks he has edged this into the pads. The third umpire comes into play. UltraEdge rolls in and there is a clear spike as the ball passes by the bat. The umpire reverses his decision and Pollard stays on.
17.2 : James Neesham to Hardik Pandya, A slower back of a length delivery outside off this time, Pandya lofts this one over the cover region and the batters will collect a couple before the fielder in the deep cleans this up.
17.3 : James Neesham to Hardik Pandya, FOUR! Another boundary for Pandya and Mumbai! This is played really well! Neesham goes back of a length outside off again, Pandya smacks this one over the cover region again and this time it will cross the ropes to fetch them four runs.
17.4 : James Neesham to Hardik Pandya, FOUR! No need to run for that as this will run away past the ropes! Good length ball around the off stump, Pandya creams this one hard through the cover region and it is too wide of the fielder at long off to cut it off as it crosses the fence. What an over so far for Mumbai!
17.5 : James Neesham to Hardik Pandya, A full toss around middle, Pandya flicks this off the back foot towards the square leg region to run across for the single.
17.6 : James Neesham to Kieron Pollard, Another single to end the over as Pollard plays this towards the fielder at deep square leg to retain the strike for the next over. Great over as they collect 18 runs off it!
18.1 : Mohammed Shami to Kieron Pollard, Well bowled! Very full and on middle, this is whipped down to long on for one. Not a lot you can do with that ball.
18.2 : Mohammed Shami to Hardik Pandya, FOUR! That is poor with third man up! You just don't expect this from Shami. It is short and outside off, Shami slashes at it. It goes off the outside edge and over short third man for a boundary.
18.3 : Mohammed Shami to Hardik Pandya, Goes back to bowling full and outside off, Pandya can only hit it down to long on for one.
18.4 : Mohammed Shami to Kieron Pollard, WIDE! A slower one but it is well wide outside off. Pollard does go after it but misses.
Mohammed Shami to Kieron Pollard, EDGY FOUR! Full marks to the bowler but runs to the batter! Fuller and outside off, Pollard swings at it with all his might. It goes off the outside edge and flies past short third man. Not sure if seam-up is the right way to go with this field.
18.5 : Mohammed Shami to Kieron Pollard, FOUR! Goes pace off but the length is very poor! It is short and asking to be hit. Pollard smashes it through mid-wicket and the ball races away to the fence. Third boundary in the over.
18.6 : Mohammed Shami to Kieron Pollard, FOUR! 4th boundary in the over and it is a very expensive one from Shami to end his spell! All of a sudden above 180 looks easily possible. It is a full toss, he misses the yorker and Pollard whips it throgh backward square leg.
Mohammed Shami to Kieron Pollard, NOT OUT! There is a huge inside edge! Hence, Pollard reviewed. It is a low full toss on the pads, Pollard looks to flick but gets an inside edge onto the pads. An appeal is made by the players of Punjab. The finger goes up. Pollard reviews immediately. Replays roll in and they show that the on-field call has to be overturned. End of a brillaint over though by Shami.
17.1 : James Neesham to Hardik Pandya, SIX! Pandya gets enough of this! This is in the slot for Pandya and he will punish you! Neesham bowls a back of a length ball around off, Pandya lofts this over the long on region and it just about crosses the fence in the deep for a six.
Krishnappa Gowtham to Hardik Pandya, Well bowled and fielded by Goutham to start off! He goes loopy ball outside off, Pandya smacks this back to the bowler and he does well to stop this one. A dot is required at this stage for Punjab!
19.2 : Krishnappa Gowtham to Hardik Pandya, SIX! What power and what a shot! Pandya generates some immense power and smashes this for a huge maximum. Bowls a flighted ball around off, Pandya makes some room and heaves this over the mid-wicket region for a six. That was in the air for a long time but it also has the distance required!
19.3 : Krishnappa Gowtham to Hardik Pandya, IN THE AIR BUT SHORT! Pandya misses out as this was a full toss! He seems disappointed with himself and why not as well! Goutham misses his mark and bowls a full toss around middle, Pandya looks to smash this but it comes off his leading edge and goes towards the long on region. One run taken.
19.4 : Krishnappa Gowtham to Kieron Pollard, SIX! Up, up and away! Pollard could be the difference between Punjab winning this game and losing it! Goutham thinks well and bowls a full ball outside off, Pollard had made some room but still manages to reach out and heave this over the bowler's head for a huge huge six!
19.5 : Krishnappa Gowtham to Kieron Pollard, SIX! Hammered! Floats a delivery around middle and leg, Pollard gets under this one and hammers this over the deep mid-wicket fence for another biggie! This has been a good over for Mumbai! Can they finish the innings with a bang?
19.6 : Krishnappa Gowtham to Kieron Pollard, SIX! YES, HE CAN! Pollard has been on fire today and it is because of him that Mumbai has reached a mammoth total of 191! Loopy ball on middle, Pollard swings his bat and sends the ball over long on. A hattrick of sixes! PUNJAB WILL NEED 192 RUNS TO WIN!
What a power-batting performance from Mumbai! Never did we feel they would get above the 190-run mark when Kishan and Rohit were batting. The former was struggling to time the ball and the latter was also happy taking singles. However, that was just the calm before the storm from Rohit. Also, Kishan's wicket was probably a timely one for Mumbai, yes you read it right, timely one for the batting side as Pollard and Pandya who came after him, had no problems to strike it big. Kishan's innings thou
It was the same story for Punjab! They were good to begin with but ended it horribly. Everybody who bowled in the death was taken to the cleaners and hence, had a poor day at the office. Only Cottrell who was done before the 15th was brilliant. He ended with an economy of less than 6 per over and also had a wicket to his name. Overall though, it was not a performance to look back at.
The target is a big one and a lot will depend on Rahul and Agarwal! If they start well, Punjab are in this. Mumbai on the other hand, have the bowlers to defend this. They will back themselves to do so. A very good second essay awaits.
0.1 : Trent Boult to KL Rahul, Fuller and tailing back in! Rahul works it down towards backward square leg for a run. Punjab and Rahul are underway.
0.2 : Trent Boult to Mayank Agarwal, FOUR! Agarwal is underway in style! Shorter and on middle, Agarwal takes on the challenge of pulling it. He hits it over square leg and it races away to the fence.
0.3 : Trent Boult to Mayank Agarwal, Goes back to bowling length and on middle, it is defended onto the ground.
0.4 : Trent Boult to Mayank Agarwal, Angled into the pads, Agarwal works it through square leg for two.
0.5 : Trent Boult to Mayank Agarwal, Outside off, it is guided down to third man for one.
0.6 : Trent Boult to KL Rahul, FOUR! Just wide! A great start for Punjab! The two players have come out all guns blazing. A short one on middle, Rahul pulls. He is not in total control but it goes wide of the fielder at fine leg for another boundary.
1.1 : James Pattinson to Mayank Agarwal, FOUR! The shots start to flow for Punjab right at the start! Pattinson starts off with a back of a length ball outside off, Agarwal makes room and lofts this over the cover region and it will race away to the fence.
1.2 : James Pattinson to Mayank Agarwal, Back of a length ball around middle and leg, Agarwal flicks this towards the deep square leg region and will collect a couple on this occasion.
1.3 : James Pattinson to Mayank Agarwal, Good length ball around middle and leg, Agarwal tucks this off his back foot towards the deep square leg region to run across for the single.
1.4 : James Pattinson to KL Rahul, On a good length around the off stump, Rahul works this towards the deep cover region to collect a single.
1.5 : James Pattinson to Mayank Agarwal, WIDE! Not the best delivery by Pattinson as this ball is straying down the leg side. The umpire signals for a wide.

Nair tries to cut but gets an inside edge onto the stumps. Punjab in big trouble and Pandya is pumped up.
Nicholas Pooran will be the new batter out for Punjab, replacing Karun Nair, whose stay at the crease was a very brief one.

0.0 : DRINKS! Punjab had started off well but that seems like an eternity ago as Mumbai have crawled back since those three overs and have picked up quick wickets and have put Punjab under immense pressure. They will look to continue the same going forward with the remaining 12 overs. Punjab, on the other hand, have lost their openers who were in good touch and have Maxwell and Pooran out there who are capable to turn this tie on its head. The question is who handles the pressure well and comes out on

Rohit Sharma goes for the review as Rahul Chahar is convinced that this is out after the umpire said no to the LBW appeal. The third umpire is called in. UltraEdge comes into play and there is no spike as the ball goes past the bat. Ball Tracker is on and the ball is pitching outside leg and so the on-field decision stays on.
10.1 : Rahul Chahar to Nicholas Pooran, NOT OUT! It has pitched outside leg. Not sure why Mumbai went for the review as it was a googly from Chahar. It spins away. Pooran looks to sweep but misses to get hit on the pads. A huge shout from Chahar but it is turned down. The batters take a leg bye as it rolls on the off side. 12.4 : Krunal Pandya to Nicholas Pooran, Looks like Krunal does not want to give any width to Pooran as he bowls a full toss around leg, Pooran tucks this to the mid-wicket region to run across for the single.
12.5 : Krunal Pandya to Glenn Maxwell, Maxwell lets this one go assuming that it would be a wide as Krunal bowls this full ball way outside off. It is just inside the line and this will be a dot.
12.6 : Krunal Pandya to Glenn Maxwell, Tossed up ball way outside off, Maxwell gets under it but works it straight to the fielder at point. A great over by Krunal and he seems very happy with himself.
Pattinson will grip the ball now, replacing Bumrah. His figures read 2-0-20-0 so far.
13.1 : James Pattinson to Nicholas Pooran, Just short! Pooran would have had his heart in his mouth for a few seconds! It is fuller and outside off. Pooran slices it towards deep cover who runs in but it lands short. Two taken. 100 up.
13.2 : James Pattinson to Nicholas Pooran, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! There goes Pooran. It was him who Punjab needed to bat till the end. He was striking it well but he is walking back now. The target now looks farfetched. Also, Shane Bond, the Mumbai bowling coach, was just saying how they wanted to keep it wide and outside off for Pooran and that is the delivery which got them the wicket. 14.1 : Rahul Chahar to Glenn Maxwell, Shorter and on middle, this is pushed back to the bowler.
13.6 : DRINKS! Mumbai have continued their good work and have done well to stem the flow of runs. Pooran was looking good but Pattinson made sure that he could not damage them any more by sending him back to the hut. Punjab, do have some firepower as Maxwell and Neesham are out in the middle and Sarfaraz is yet to walk out for them, but with the bowling attack that Mumbai possess, it sure does look difficult and unlikely that Punjab can win this one. But in this edition of the Indian T20 League, you ne

Chahar tosses it up outside off, it is the leg spinner. Maxwell look to heave it over the mid-wicket fence but that is the wrong idea for two reasons. One - It is the longer part of the ground and the other it is against the spin. He only manages to hit it high up in the air towards Boult in the deep who takes it well i

15.5 : Jasprit Bumrah to Sarfaraz Khan, On a full length around off, Sarfaraz looks for the cheeky scoop and connects but doesn't play this well as it reaches Boult at fine leg on a bounce. One run taken.
15.6 : Jasprit Bumrah to James Neesham, OUT! CAUGHT! Neesham will have to walk back now and the task which already looked tough now looks like it will be impossible! The skipper of Punjab, KL Rahul starts off by saying that it is disappointing that they haven't won more games and thinks that this is one of those games where they haven't bowled or batted well and it is important to come back stronger. States that the wicket looked good with the new ball and he is not sure if it slowed up after that. Says that it is important to carry on their form. Adds that it would have been great to have an all rounder who bats and bowls well. Says that he has to sit with

Right then! We have had a pretty one-sided game as Mumbai have been dominant and have not let Punjab crawl back into the game at any point. Mumbai have played well and they will look to take this forward when they play their next game in Sharjah and Punjab will be disappointed as they have played well but have just won one single game out of their three games and they will want to bounce back in their next encounter. The action continues on Friday, 2nd October 2020 as Chennai and Hyderabad will
Jasprit Bumrah to Krishnappa Gowtham, Another yorker to end the game as Goutham plays this to the deep cover region for just a single. MUMBAI WIN BY 48 RUNS!
19.3 : A thumping win for Mumbai then! To be honest, it is their batters who set it up. Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard and a cameo from Pandya meant they finished with a total which was well above par and chasing that, Punjab needed a good start but they did not get one. Also, they kept losing wickets after that on regular intervals. Someone from the top four needed to go big but that was not the case. Pooran did seem like he was finding his touch but departed when his team needed him to continue. Maxwel
