RR 164/3 (19.5)
Match over
0.0 : It is a royal clash in the Indian T20 League. Welcome to game number 14 of this edition. Bangalore versus Jaipur. 3 losses each. One will remain winless while one will get off the mark. The difficulty of qualifying for one team will increase even further at the end of the night. All to play for, expect Red and Pink to go at each other like cats and dogs. Will Virat get a win in his 100th game as Bangalore skipper or will his deputy in Test matches, Ajinkya Rahane and his side put their first poi
PITCH REPORT - Ian Bishop is our pitch analyst. He informs us that the pacers get more wickets at this venue than spinners and tells us that there are dry areas on one side of the pitch where the spinners will get spin and the ball will grip. Walking to the other side, Bishop says that it has more grass and that will help the pacers get pace and bounce along with some balls skidding on. States that as a batsman, if one can play the horizontal bat shots then that person can score runs out here.
TOSS - Rajasthan win the toss and ELECT TO FIELD FIRST!!!
Ajinkya Rahane feels it is a dry wicket and reckons dew might play a part later on. He mentions that they are looking to restrict Bangalore and then later chase down the total. Informs everyone that there are two changes in his side - Sanju Samson is injured and he is replaced by Stuart Binny, while Jaydev Unadkat is replaced by Varun Aaron.
Virat Kohli says that they wanted to bat first anyway. He feels that the surface is dry and might slow down as the game goes on. He hopes the dew stays away and they will look to defend the score that they put up. Informs us that they have three changes as Navdeep Saini, Akshdeep Nath, and Marcus Stoinis replace the trio of Shivam Dubey, Prayas Ray Barman and Colin de Grandhomme.

Gopal thought it was pad first so appealed but the umpire had a clear look and made the right decision.
6.3 : S Gopal to V Kohli, OUT! Right through the gate! Everything about this delivery is perfect. The length, the flight, the deception, the turn. Beautiful. Gopal strikes straightaway in his first over. This one was a googly pitching on off and coming way back in. Kohli was deceived by the turn and played down the wrong line. He was no where close to the ball and the ball skid past the gap between bat and pad. Big wicket here for Rajasthan as they have got the skipper out. Now they should look t

A short mid on in place.
10.4 : S Gopal to M Stoinis, Floated on middle and off, Marcus takes no risk and blocks it.
10.5 : S Gopal to M Stoinis, On the pads, Stoinis flicks it to the on side and takes a single.
10.6 : S Gopal to P Patel, Floated on the stumps, Parthiv blocks it. End of another excellent over. A wicket and just a single off it.
Stuart Binny on now.

11.4 : S Binny to M Stoinis, Skids off the deck a bit and keeps a little low. On a length outside off, Stoinis chops it off the under edge square on the off side for a single.
11.5 : S Binny to P Patel, Full delivery, swinging in and going down leg, Parthiv flicks it through backward square leg and runs hard. Nicely done, he's able to come back for the second without any trouble.
11.6 : S Binny to P Patel, Bit fullish in length, on off stump, it's tapped down on the off side with soft hands for a brisk run.
Ben Stokes called on to have a go with the ball.
12.1 : Ben Stokes to P Patel, Shortish and into the body, Parthiv swivels and pulls it along the turf through square leg. There is a fielder in the deep, so the batsmen only get a single.
12.2 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, Short of a good length quite close to off, cramping the batsman for room. All he can do is stick back and punch it towards mid off.
12.3 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, Stokes takes the pace off this one. A length ball on middle and off, Stoinis turns it to mid-wicket and jogs across to the other end.
12.4 : Ben Stokes to P Patel, SIX! He just about gets enough on it! Not in complete control, but gets the job done. Back of a length on middle and off, Parthiv stays back, waits for the ball to come to him and then pulls it over square leg. Tripathi out in the deep leaps just inside the rope, but can't reach the ball.
12.5 : Ben Stokes to P Patel, FOUR! Shot. Much better. In complete control this time. Short and wide outside off, Parthiv Patel flays it through point and finds the fence.
12.6 : Ben Stokes to P Patel, A little too straight in line, worked to the man position in front of square leg. Expensive first over from Stokes, gives away 12 runs in it.
Jofra Archer is back on.
13.1 : J Archer to M Stoinis, Cutting back in off the deck, a back of a length delivery, it's worked to deep square leg for one.
13.2 : J Archer to P Patel, Lands it on a length, on middle stump, the opener gets inside the line and nudges it wide of mid-wicket for a run.
13.3 : J Archer to M Stoinis, Short from Archer and Stoinis is up for the challenge as well. He mistimes it a bit, but manages to slap the pull down to long on. He gets off strike with that.
13.4 : J Archer to P Patel, Switches the angle to around the wicket and bowls it on a length, Patel defends it from inside the crease.
A run out appeal. It's against Parthiv Patel at the striker's end. He seems to be safe though.
13.5 : J Archer to P Patel, No ball! And that's a fifty for Parthiv Patel, his 12th in the Indian T20 League. Around off, Patel runs it down to short third man and takes off. Comes back as the fielder is quick to the ball. A direct hit is scored and the batsmen take the run as the ball ricochets off the stumps. Plenty happening, with more to come. Free Hit coming up now...
J Archer to M Stoinis, SIX! THAT IS A MASSIVE HIT! Wow. Marcus Stoinis has a lot of power. He's continuing his good form into this tournament as well. Full and right in the slot for him, he gets under the ball and launches it high and deep into the wide long on stands for a maximum.
13.6 : J Archer to M Stoinis, Full ball which is hit back to Archer. End of the over, 11 runs off it.
Shreyas Gopal to bowl out.
14.1 : S Gopal to P Patel, The googly which is tossed up on the stumps, Patel plays it to the left of the bowler.
14.2 : S Gopal to P Patel, Turning in from middle and off, the southpaw turns it to square leg and gets to the other end.
14.3 : S Gopal to M Stoinis, Short, flat and on the stumps, Stoinis goes deep inside the crease and turns it through the vacant square leg area. One run to the total.
14.4 : S Gopal to P Patel, The batsman has flicked the ball off his pads. One run added to the total.
14.5 : S Gopal to M Stoinis, Stoinis has got away there. An inch to the right and he would have been gone. Short ball around off, the googly and it keeps low. Stoinis looks to play the reverse paddle but it goes under his bat and catches the back pad. Luckily for the batsman, the impact is outside off.
14.6 : S Gopal to M Stoinis, Tossed up outside off, driven through to long off for one. End of Gopal's wonderful spell, he finishes with figures of 4-1-12-3.
Dhawal Kulkarni to bowl again.
15.1 : D Kulkarni to M Stoinis, Back of a length ball on middle and leg, hit through square leg for an easy run.
15.2 : D Kulkarni to P Patel, On the fuller side of the length, well outside off, Parthiv cracks it through the big gap in the covers. Gowtham from long off covers good ground to his right and stops it with a slide. The batsmen take two.
15.3 : D Kulkarni to P Patel, Angling away from around off, slightly short in length, cut but straight to Steven Smith at point.
15.4 : D Kulkarni to P Patel, The left-hander backs away and slaps his punch shot through the covers. Gets another two.
15.5 : D Kulkarni to P Patel, FOUR! Patel going along well here, grabs another boundary to his name. Full and wide outside off, Parthiv has room to free his arms. He does so and clears the cover fielder inside the ring. Boundary results.
15.6 : D Kulkarni to P Patel, Full delivery which is too straight in line, it is comfortably whipped away through to deep mid-wicket for a single.
Strategic break. After getting in some early and midway trouble, this Patel-Stoinis partnership has steadied things up somewhat. Rajasthan still very much on top at the moment, but a good finish for Bangalore could change that. The remaining 4 overs should be entertaining for sure. Ben Stokes to bowl now.
16.1 : Ben Stokes to P Patel, Shorter length slower ball on middle, pulled away by Parthiv for a single to deep mid-wicket.
16.2 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, Slower in pace outside off, Stoinis looks to cut the ball on the front foot but fails to put bat on ball. The ball goes on a bounce to the keeper.
16.3 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, Punched to long off for a run by Stoinis.
16.4 : Ben Stokes to P Patel, Short in length again to the southpaw, Patel whips it away to deep mid-wicket for a run.
16.5 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, Good stop on his followthrough. A length ball on middle, Stoinis punches it hard down the ground and that would have been a couple at least. Stokes though gets low and half-stops the ball. A single is taken.
16.6 : Ben Stokes to P Patel, FOUR! That is an excellent finish to the over for Bangalore! A length ball on middle and off, Parthiv Patel middles his short-arm jab and gets it through wide long on for a boundary. The timing was ominous on that one.
Jofra Archer returns.
17.1 : J Archer to M Stoinis, Low full toss on the stumps, Stoinis stays leg side and drives it through towards sweeper cover. Gets a single for it.
17.2 : J Archer to P Patel, OUT! Archer gets rid of the set batsman. Parthiv looks to go big, rightly so, but can't execute his shot as nicely as he'd have liked. Full and on off from around the wicket, the slower one, the opener looks to clear long on. Can't get underneath the ball cleanly and hands a simple catch to Rahane in the deep. Got out at the wrong time, but a fine innings from Parthiv Patel comes to a close.
Moeen Ali out now.
17.3 : J Archer to M Stoinis, Full and coming back in, from over the wicket, Marcus flicks it through mid-wicket and gets off strike.
17.4 : J Archer to M Ali, Back to around the wicket, this time to Ali, it's a full toss on middle and off. The English all-rounder can only play it back to him.
17.5 : J Archer to M Ali, FOUR! Not sure he intended to go there, but he's certainly not going to complain. Extremely full and angling in on leg, Ali swings as it goes off the inner half. It races away to the fine leg fence for a boundary.
17.6 : J Archer to M Ali, Back of a length ball on off stump, Moeen pulls it through mid-wicket for one run.
18.1 : Ben Stokes to M Ali, Cleverly takes the pace off this one. A length ball on the stumps, Ali picks it up a little late and heaves it to deep mid-wicket. Single to get this over going.
18.2 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, Good work out in the deep from Gowtham. Stoinis backs away and hammers this short ball down the ground. The fielder from long off runs swiftly to his right and cuts it off, keeping the batsmen to just one.
18.3 : Ben Stokes to M Ali, Back of a length in line of the stumps, Ali swings across the line and gets it off the inside edge to short fine leg. The batsmen steal a quick one.
18.4 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, FOUR! So powerful. He's a big, strong man. Uses the angle coming into him, it's full in length, and Stoinis muscles it aerially through mid-wicket. Bisects the two fielders in the deep and gets a boundary to his name.
18.5 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, Back of a length and into the body, pulled through the square leg region for a couple of runs.
Review taken. It's for a caught behind appeal against Marcus Stoinis. Not sure how convincing the appeal is, but we've gone upstairs. Let's see what happens...
18.6 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, Not out! But a good delivery from Big Ben. He runs in and hits the deck hard. It's short with good pace and keeps climbing onto Stoinis who takes the pull on. It goes behind and there's a muted appeal. Rahane takes the DRS and replays show the Australian is fine.
19.1 : J Archer to M Ali, SIX! That's come right off the middle. Picks his spot and nails this exceptionally well. Archer bowls the slow one but the line is too straight, Ali clears his front leg and pummels it over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie.
19.2 : J Archer to M Ali, Full delivery aiming the base of off stump, Moeen Ali drills it to Stokes at sweeper cover for a run.
19.3 : J Archer to M Stoinis, Extremely full ball attacking the stumps, from over the wicket, Stoinis drives it to long off for a single.
19.4 : J Archer to M Ali, FOUR! Moeen Ali playing a fine knock here. Great execution from him. Full and in the slot, Ali clears his front leg and hammers it down the ground. Gowtham from long on moves to his right and dives, but still can't stop the ball from crossing the rope.
19.5 : J Archer to M Ali, Short ball in line of the stumps, Ali plays and misses. The keeper can't collect cleanly, which allows the batsmen to steal a bye.
19.6 : J Archer to M Stoinis, FOUR! Marcus Stoinis finishes things off with a boundary. Premeditates this as he goes well across his stumps early, it's a full toss. The Aussie paddles it fine down the leg side and beats short fine leg for a boundary. An expensive outing for Archer today, he finishes with figures of 4-0-47-1. BANGALORE FINISH ON 158/4.
17 off the final over and that could prove to be the difference maker at the end of it all. Stoinis and Moeen Ali, especially the latter, provided the fast runs in the death overs and got their side to a fighting total at the very least. The innings largely revolved around Parthiv Patel as Kohli, de Villiers and Hetmyer departed without doing much damage. The southpaw opener motored along to a well-deserved fifty and the two all-rounders from the middle order delivered with a late flurry.
Rajasthan won't be disappointed as such, but will certainly feel disheartened that they couldn't restrict Bangalore to under 140. There were good performances, with Gopal being the standout one as he ended with 3/12 in his 4-over spell. Archer surprisingly, who's very good, was quite expensive today, conceding 47, with 17 of them coming in the final over of the game.
Shreyas Gopal is on the sidelines for a chat. He feels lucky to have got the wickets of two world-class batsmen in the form of Kohli and de Villiers. He states that he follows his gut feeling and tries to hide the ball till as late as possible. He informs us that he tries to bowl stump to stump and hopes for the best. Mentions that he does not feel bad to go for runs as all the players here are world class. As far as the domestic circuit is concerned, he feels that there is a difference in the c
So, it's all set up for an exciting second half. Bangalore have something to bowl at, and the momentum they got towards the end could just be the thing that could push them in the run chase. This is a total that is chaseable and the dew might come into play as well. Rajasthan will back themselves to win this. Let's see how it pans out.
0.0 : We are back for the chase. Jos Buttler and Ajinkya Rahane will open for the hosts in their pursuit of 159. Meanwhile, Umesh Yadav will start off proceedings for Bangalore. Let's play!

0.3 : U Yadav to Jos Buttler, FOUR! No mistake this time and Buttler smacks this length ball on off through covers for a boundary. He is off the mark in style.
0.4 : U Yadav to Jos Buttler, Back of a length delivery on off, Jos strokes it wide of point and gets a brace.
0.5 : U Yadav to Jos Buttler, Slightly fuller on off, Buttler gently pushes it to the fielder at cover.
0.6 : U Yadav to Jos Buttler, Single to end the over. Slightly shorter in length, Buttler slaps it to cover and takes a single as the fielder there misfields the ball.
Navdeep Saini to bowl from the other end.
1.1 : N Saini to Jos Buttler, Starts with a length ball on the fifth stump line. Looks like the plan is to bowl short and wide to Buttler. Jos goes chasing after it but misses.
1.2 : N Saini to Jos Buttler, Fast ball on the pads, Buttler looks to flick it but it strikes him high on his thigh pad and the ball rolls to the on side. Leg bye stolen.
1.3 : N Saini to A Rahane, DROPPED! Saini is an unlucky man. Pacy delivery outside off, Rahane looks to drive it but gets a thick outside edge to the right of slip. Kohli there dives to his right but cannot hold onto the ball. He should have taken that as it was a regulation catch there. The batsmen take a single as well.
1.4 : N Saini to Jos Buttler, FOUR! Buttler goes after Saini. Fuller delivery on middle, Buttler lofts it straight over the bowler's head. He does not time it to perfection but times it well enough to get a boundary.
1.5 : N Saini to Jos Buttler, FOUR! Slapped and slapped hard. Good length delivery outside off, Buttler smacks it through covers for a boundary.
1.6 : N Saini to Jos Buttler, On the pads, Buttler flicks it but finds mid-wicket. 10 off Saini's first.
Umesh to continue. Can he pick up a wicket in this over?
2.1 : U Yadav to A Rahane, Wide! Fires it full and down the leg side, wide signalled by the umpire.
U Yadav to A Rahane, Full and straight from Umesh, it's driven back past the bowler for a single.
2.2 : U Yadav to Jos Buttler, Slower back of a length ball, Buttler rolls his wrists on this one as he pulls it in front of square leg. A couple of runs result.
2.3 : U Yadav to Jos Buttler, Too straight in line, it's wristed down to fine leg and the batsmen take two more.
2.4 : U Yadav to Jos Buttler, In the air but well short of the fielder. Bouncer on middle and leg, Buttler pulls it to the man at fine leg on a couple of bounces. Just the one this time.
2.5 : U Yadav to A Rahane, FOUR! Poor line. Down the leg side, all Rahane has to do is get something on it and he does that. Tickles it past the diving keeper and sends it across the fine leg fence.
2.6 : U Yadav to A Rahane, FOUR! That's cracked! Short and wide outside off, Rahane cuts this hard through point. Pierces the gap there and ends the over with a boundary. Everything about that shot was perfect. 15 runs from this over, Rajasthan are off to a flying start.
3.1 : N Saini to Jos Buttler, FOUR! This opening pair is only dealing in boundaries. Full and wide outside off, Buttler drives it through the big gap in the covers and gets another boundary to his name.
3.2 : N Saini to Jos Buttler, Swing and a miss from Jos. It's there to be hit, fullish and outside off, so he looks to go big downtown but fails to make connection.
3.3 : N Saini to Jos Buttler, FOUR BYES! Buttler's missed out, shouldn't have been a boundary at all but the keeper's made a mess of that. 5.6 : N Saini to A Rahane, Quick single, this is good running between the wickets. Rahane pushes it to mid on and takes the fielder on. He scores a direct hit, but the Rajasthan captain makes it in with a dive. That's the end of the Powerplay. Rajasthan are 55/0, while Bangalore were 48/0.
Strategic break. A much-needed one for Bangalore. They are bleeding runs and really need to regroup. Buttler and Rahane have taken the attack to the hosts' bowlers and have come out successful so far. The introduction of the spinners could work wonders for the home side. It needs a wicket and fast.
6.1 : M Siraj to A Rahane, He's timing it well. Rahane waits for the length ball to come to him before opening the face and running it down to third man for one.

6.6 : M Siraj to Jos Buttler, Back of a length rising off the surface, Buttler punches it on the up and finds sweeper cover. Single to end the over.

7.4 : Y Chahal to A Rahane, OUT! And Chahal does strike! This is a big wicket for Bangalore, they needed that. It's the googly, cleverly disguised and shorter in length. Rahane goes back to cut but the ball comes in and cramps the batsman for room. The ball goes on to hit the back pad and the appeal goes up, which is followed by the umpire's finger. The opening stand of 60 is broken.

9.4 : Y Chahal to S Smith, Driven all along the ground for a single to long on. Rajasthan doing it smartly here, playing Chahal safely.

A flighted ball on middle, Buttler looks to slog it for a maximum but the ball takes the edge and goes high towards long off. Stoinis there settles under the ball and takes a good catch. Can this pave the way back for Bangalore?
Rahul Tripathi walks in next.
12.5 : Y Chahal to S Smith, Pushed back to the bowler by the batsman coming on his front foot.
Stumping appeal taken upstairs. Steven Smith is the man in question. Looks like his back foot was in the crease. Let's see what the replays have to say.
12.6 : Y Chahal to S Smith, NOT OUT! The back foot is firmly in the crease even as Smith had lost his balance. A flighted ball outside off, Smith looks to play a shot onto the leg side but fails to connect the ball and loses his balance. The keeper collects the ball and whips the bails off. He asks the question to the square leg umpire who takes it upstairs. The replays show that the Aussie is safely inside the crease. He did well there not to drag his feet out or lift it.

14.1 : M Stoinis to R Tripathi, FOUR! Tripathi welcomes Stoinis with a boundary. All too easy, this. Back of a length on middle and leg, the batter adjusts inside the crease and pulls it over mid-wicket, right in the gap. Nobody out there, so that will be a boundary.
14.2 : M Stoinis to R Tripathi, Shorter again, this time Rahul helps the pull behind square leg and gets to the other end.
14.3 : M Stoinis to S Smith, Waits for this one to come to him. Plays it very late as he opens the face and runs it down to third man for one.
14.4 : M Stoinis to R Tripathi, Tripathi does the same. With an open bat face he guides it behind point, towards third man, and crosses over.
14.5 : M Stoinis to S Smith, Keeps a little low as it skids off the deck. Smith drags this length ball around off with a pull and places it over mid-wicket. Big gap out there, so the batsmen are able to come back for the second.
14.6 : M Stoinis to S Smith, Full and straight from the bowler, Smith flicks it in front of square leg for a run.
Strategic break. Rajasthan on course to win this game. Just need 38 to win in 30 balls, with 8 wickets in hand. Unless there is a massive collapse, this game is theirs to win. Also, Yuzvendra Chahal is back on.
15.1 : Y Chahal to S Smith, DROPPED! Is that the game-changing moment? It has to be, doesn't it? Unbelievable. The simplest of catches, really. Tossed up leg break around off, spins away, Smith opens his body up and goes inside out. What should have been a straightforward catch to Umesh Yadav at sweeper cover, ends up becoming a missed chance. The batsmen take one. Virat Kohli is not a happy camper. No, sir.
15.2 : Y Chahal to R Tripathi, Stays right behind the line of this one and keeps it out.
15.3 : Y Chahal to R Tripathi, Works this against the spin square on the leg side and takes one.
15.4 : Y Chahal to S Smith, Smith leans ahead to this full ball and eases it to long off. Single to the total.
15.5 : Y Chahal to R Tripathi, Just short. Behind a driving length, some flight on it, Tripathi steps out, unable to get to the pitch. Chips it back, but it falls short of Chahal.
15.6 : Y Chahal to R Tripathi, Sweeps this down towards the man at fine leg for a single.
Mohammed Siraj is called back on to bowl.

16.2 : M Siraj to R Tripathi, It's in the air but short of the fielder. Well done, Stoinis, for stopping that though. Length ball around off, Tripathi mistimes it off the outer half over point. Marcus runs in from the deep and stops it from going past him. Two runs taken.

M Siraj to S Smith, Full and wide again, outside off, it's driven square through the off side for a double.
16.6 : M Siraj to S Smith, SIX! Take that, Mohammed Siraj! Steven Smith with an immaculate hit. This is full again, right in the slot, Smith swings across the line and nails the slog. Clears the mid-wicket boundary with ease for a maximum. 18 runs needed in 18 balls now.
Navdeep Saini returns to the attack.
17.1 : N Saini to R Tripathi, Tripathi slogs this, off the inner half and places it through towards wide long on. One run collected.
17.2 : N Saini to S Smith, Smith goes leg side as well. Slogs this through mid-wicket and comes back for the second.
17.3 : N Saini to S Smith, Takes the pull shot on and gets away with it. Short ball which rises quickly, Smith pulls and it goes off the top edge. The ball falls safely in the square leg area and the batsmen take a single.
17.4 : N Saini to R Tripathi, Wide! Bumper but it's angled down the leg side, the umpire signals it as a wide.
N Saini to R Tripathi, FOUR! Once again, the execution from Tripathi is spot on. A full toss around off, the batsman backs away and slices it behind point. Third man tries to cut it off by moving to his right but can't stop it.
17.5 : N Saini to R Tripathi, Chance of a run out! Just not Bangalore's night, it seems. Tripathi plays it to de Villiers at short mid-wicket. Smith takes off, but then turns back. AB misses his shy at the bowler's end. Smith wasn't even in the frame.
17.6 : N Saini to R Tripathi, Rahul skips down the track and takes it on the full. Gets it off the inner half back towards the bowler.
18.1 : M Siraj to S Smith, Shortish delivery angling into the body, pulled to deep square leg for a run.
18.2 : M Siraj to R Tripathi, A short delivery which has been pulled away. The batsmen have run through for a single.
18.3 : M Siraj to S Smith, Short and banged in outside off, Steven wildly throws his bat at it and mistimes the slap to the left of the bowler. Dot ball. 7 needed off 9 now.
18.4 : M Siraj to S Smith, Has that carried? Seems like it has. Yes, it has. It's a DROPPED CHANCE! Substitute Pawan Negi makes a good effort, but he should have caught it. Steven Smith mistimes his pull shot towards mid-wicket. Negi there runs in, dives, gets his fingers under it but can't hold on. Single taken.
18.5 : M Siraj to R Tripathi, Another DROPPED OPPORTUNITY! This time it's Moeen Ali who can't hold on. Virat Kohli is living watching this. Tripathi pulls it over square leg and Ali out in the deep runs to his right. He slips while running and that's why the ball slips through his palms. One run to the total.
18.6 : M Siraj to S Smith, OUT! Taken this time. Umesh Yadav the man to gobble it up. Virat Kohli applauds that. Smith backs away to this fuller length ball and looks to clear long on. Can hit it only as far as the fielder who takes it well this time. A wicket finally comes, but maybe a little too late.
Ben Stokes walks in next. Meanwhile, it is Umesh Yadav to bowl the final over. 5 needed off 6 balls now.
19.1 : U Yadav to R Tripathi, Angling back into the batsman, Tripathi hits it through mid-wicket for a double.

19.3 : U Yadav to Ben Stokes, Back of a length on middle, Stokes works it in front of short mid-wicket.
19.4 : U Yadav to Ben Stokes, Scores are level now! We could have a Super Over if Umesh can hold his nerve somehow. Good save from the man at point on this occasion. Stokes cuts it square where the fielder dives to his right and stops a certain boundary.
19.5 : U Yadav to R Tripathi, SIX! What a way to finish things off! Tripathi doesn't let it go into the Super Over and calmly gets his side over the line. Short ball and it's pulled with absolute control, flat over the mid-wicket fence. RAJASTHAN WIN BY 7 WICKETS!
First win of the season for the team in pink. The fact that it's come in front of their home crowd will please them more and give them some much-needed confidence for the campaign. They were right on top from the moment this chase began. Buttler and Rahane took their side off to a flier and from that point on, it was smooth sailing as they pretty much set the tone for the rest to come. Buttler went on to score his fifty. After his departure, Smith and Tripathi sealed the deal, with the latter sc
Bangalore needed wickets. At the start, in the middle and towards the end, but it didn't come when they wanted. The dew didn't help their cause, along with the decent total, but they still could have been in with a chance had they taken their chances towards the fag end of the game. 2 or 3 good chances went down, that too of key batsmen, which could have maybe changed the outcome. Something doesn't end up clicking for Bangalore, which becomes their downfall. Earlier in the evening, Parthiv's fif
Virat Kohli, the Bangalore skipper, feels that today's performance was more competitive but they were 15-20 runs short. He reckons that those extra runs would have played a vital part even with the dew around. Also feels that they cannot afford to drop so many chances in such kind of a game. On this being the fourth loss in a row, he says that these kind of things look bad when they happen and that they'd have liked at least a win if not two out of the four games played so far. He states that th
Yuzvendra Chahal, the leading wicket-taker in the tournament this season, feels good about getting the award for the same but is disappointed about losing the game. He reckons that leg spinners do well because they have a lot of variations and even though they go for runs, they get a lot of wickets. He informs us that despite it being the fourth loss in a row, there is no point being negative because it won't help the cause.
Ajinkya Rahane, the Rajasthan skipper, thought that the pitch would be a 150-160 one right from the beginning and expected the dew to come in. Reserves extreme praise for his spinners, especially Shreyas Gopal. He mentions that the plan was to bowl well upfront and that Gowtham did well on that aspect. He informs that the relief of getting off the mark is immense. Signs off by saying that it was a wonderful team effort and hopes it will continue in the games to come as well.
Shreyas Gopal is the Man of the Match. He says that he is lucky and happy to get those big wickets. Once again iterates that he is fortunate to have got the wickets of Kohli and de Villiers. Reckons that the pressure was exerted by the bowlers before him and he got lucky as he picked those wickets. Mentions that the execution of the plans was done well on their side. Informs us that he is not the best person to ask about the leg spinners doing well and thinks that it is all about bowling to your
We're done with this one. A contrast in fortunes and the mood tonight in both camps. While Rajasthan grab their first win of the season, Bangalore are still in search of theirs. Virat Kohli and his men would like to turn things around quickly. Moving on, the next game takes place on Wednesday, at 2000 local (1430 GMT), as Mumbai take on Chennai at the Wankhede Stadium. You don't want to miss that one. See you, folks!
