Commentary :
0.0 : It is a royal clash in the Indian T20 League. Welcome to game number 14 of this edition. Bangalore versus Jaipur. 3 losses each. One will remain winless while one will get off the mark. The difficulty of qualifying for one team will increase even further at the end of the night. All to play for, expect Red and Pink to go at each other like cats and dogs. Will Virat get a win in his 100th game as Bangalore skipper or will his deputy in Test matches, Ajinkya Rahane and his side put their first poi
PITCH REPORT - Ian Bishop is our pitch analyst. He informs us that the pacers get more wickets at this venue than spinners and tells us that there are dry areas on one side of the pitch where the spinners will get spin and the ball will grip. Walking to the other side, Bishop says that it has more grass and that will help the pacers get pace and bounce along with some balls skidding on. States that as a batsman, if one can play the horizontal bat shots then that person can score runs out here.
TOSS - Rajasthan win the toss and ELECT TO FIELD FIRST!!!
Ajinkya Rahane feels it is a dry wicket and reckons dew might play a part later on. He mentions that they are looking to restrict Bangalore and then later chase down the total. Informs everyone that there are two changes in his side - Sanju Samson is injured and he is replaced by Stuart Binny, while Jaydev Unadkat is replaced by Varun Aaron.
Virat Kohli says that they wanted to bat first anyway. He feels that the surface is dry and might slow down as the game goes on. He hopes the dew stays away and they will look to defend the score that they put up. Informs us that they have three changes as Navdeep Saini, Akshdeep Nath, and Marcus Stoinis replace the trio of Shivam Dubey, Prayas Ray Barman and Colin de Grandhomme.

6.2 : S Gopal to V Kohli, Appeal for an lbw here! But the umpire is not interested. That was close. Gopal thought it was pad first so appealed but the umpire had a clear look and made the right decision.
6.3 : S Gopal to V Kohli, OUT! Right through the gate! Everything about this delivery is perfect. The length, the flight, the deception, the turn. Beautiful. Gopal strikes straightaway in his first over. This one was a googly pitching on off and coming way back in. Kohli was deceived by the turn and played down the wrong line. He was no where close to the ball and the ball skid past the gap between bat and pad. Big wicket here for Rajasthan as they have got the skipper out. Now they should look t

9.1 : K Gowtham to P Patel, Off spinner outside off, Parthiv pushes it to the on side and takes a run.

A short mid on in place.
10.4 : S Gopal to M Stoinis, Floated on middle and off, Marcus takes no risk and blocks it.
10.5 : S Gopal to M Stoinis, On the pads, Stoinis flicks it to the on side and takes a single.
10.6 : S Gopal to P Patel, Floated on the stumps, Parthiv blocks it. End of another excellent over. A wicket and just a single off it.
Stuart Binny on now.

11.3 : S Binny to M Stoinis, Just ahead of a length, outside off, Stoinis punches it on the up but straight to the cover fielder.
11.4 : S Binny to M Stoinis, Skids off the deck a bit and keeps a little low. On a length outside off, Stoinis chops it off the under edge square on the off side for a single.
11.5 : S Binny to P Patel, Full delivery, swinging in and going down leg, Parthiv flicks it through backward square leg and runs hard. Nicely done, he's able to come back for the second without any trouble.
11.6 : S Binny to P Patel, Bit fullish in length, on off stump, it's tapped down on the off side with soft hands for a brisk run.
Ben Stokes called on to have a go with the ball.
12.1 : Ben Stokes to P Patel, Shortish and into the body, Parthiv swivels and pulls it along the turf through square leg. There is a fielder in the deep, so the batsmen only get a single.
12.2 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, Short of a good length quite close to off, cramping the batsman for room. All he can do is stick back and punch it towards mid off.
12.3 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, Stokes takes the pace off this one. A length ball on middle and off, Stoinis turns it to mid-wicket and jogs across to the other end.
12.4 : Ben Stokes to P Patel, SIX! He just about gets enough on it! Not in complete control, but gets the job done. Back of a length on middle and off, Parthiv stays back, waits for the ball to come to him and then pulls it over square leg. Tripathi out in the deep leaps just inside the rope, but can't reach the ball.
12.5 : Ben Stokes to P Patel, FOUR! Shot. Much better. In complete control this time. Short and wide outside off, Parthiv Patel flays it through point and finds the fence.
12.6 : Ben Stokes to P Patel, A little too straight in line, worked to the man position in front of square leg. Expensive first over from Stokes, gives away 12 runs in it.
Jofra Archer is back on.
13.1 : J Archer to M Stoinis, Cutting back in off the deck, a back of a length delivery, it's worked to deep square leg for one.
13.2 : J Archer to P Patel, Lands it on a length, on middle stump, the opener gets inside the line and nudges it wide of mid-wicket for a run.
13.3 : J Archer to M Stoinis, Short from Archer and Stoinis is up for the challenge as well. He mistimes it a bit, but manages to slap the pull down to long on. He gets off strike with that.
13.4 : J Archer to P Patel, Switches the angle to around the wicket and bowls it on a length, Patel defends it from inside the crease.
A run out appeal. It's against Parthiv Patel at the striker's end. He seems to be safe though.
13.5 : J Archer to P Patel, No ball! And that's a fifty for Parthiv Patel, his 12th in the Indian T20 League. Around off, Patel runs it down to short third man and takes off. Comes back as the fielder is quick to the ball. A direct hit is scored and the batsmen take the run as the ball ricochets off the stumps. Plenty happening, with more to come. Free Hit coming up now...
J Archer to M Stoinis, SIX! THAT IS A MASSIVE HIT! Wow. Marcus Stoinis has a lot of power. He's continuing his good form into this tournament as well. Full and right in the slot for him, he gets under the ball and launches it high and deep into the wide long on stands for a maximum.
13.6 : J Archer to M Stoinis, Full ball which is hit back to Archer. End of the over, 11 runs off it.
Shreyas Gopal to bowl out.
14.1 : S Gopal to P Patel, The googly which is tossed up on the stumps, Patel plays it to the left of the bowler.
14.2 : S Gopal to P Patel, Turning in from middle and off, the southpaw turns it to square leg and gets to the other end.
14.3 : S Gopal to M Stoinis, Short, flat and on the stumps, Stoinis goes deep inside the crease and turns it through the vacant square leg area. One run to the total.
14.4 : S Gopal to P Patel, The batsman has flicked the ball off his pads. One run added to the total.
14.5 : S Gopal to M Stoinis, Stoinis has got away there. An inch to the right and he would have been gone. Short ball around off, the googly and it keeps low. Stoinis looks to play the reverse paddle but it goes under his bat and catches the back pad. Luckily for the batsman, the impact is outside off.
14.6 : S Gopal to M Stoinis, Tossed up outside off, driven through to long off for one. End of Gopal's wonderful spell, he finishes with figures of 4-1-12-3.
Dhawal Kulkarni to bowl again.
15.1 : D Kulkarni to M Stoinis, Back of a length ball on middle and leg, hit through square leg for an easy run.
15.2 : D Kulkarni to P Patel, On the fuller side of the length, well outside off, Parthiv cracks it through the big gap in the covers. Gowtham from long off covers good ground to his right and stops it with a slide. The batsmen take two.
15.3 : D Kulkarni to P Patel, Angling away from around off, slightly short in length, cut but straight to Steven Smith at point.
15.4 : D Kulkarni to P Patel, The left-hander backs away and slaps his punch shot through the covers. Gets another two.
15.5 : D Kulkarni to P Patel, FOUR! Patel going along well here, grabs another boundary to his name. Full and wide outside off, Parthiv has room to free his arms. He does so and clears the cover fielder inside the ring. Boundary results.
15.6 : D Kulkarni to P Patel, Full delivery which is too straight in line, it is comfortably whipped away through to deep mid-wicket for a single.
Strategic break. After getting in some early and midway trouble, this Patel-Stoinis partnership has steadied things up somewhat. Rajasthan still very much on top at the moment, but a good finish for Bangalore could change that. The remaining 4 overs should be entertaining for sure. Ben Stokes to bowl now.
16.1 : Ben Stokes to P Patel, Shorter length slower ball on middle, pulled away by Parthiv for a single to deep mid-wicket.
16.2 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, Slower in pace outside off, Stoinis looks to cut the ball on the front foot but fails to put bat on ball. The ball goes on a bounce to the keeper.
16.3 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, Punched to long off for a run by Stoinis.
16.4 : Ben Stokes to P Patel, Short in length again to the southpaw, Patel whips it away to deep mid-wicket for a run.
16.5 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, Good stop on his followthrough. A length ball on middle, Stoinis punches it hard down the ground and that would have been a couple at least. Stokes though gets low and half-stops the ball. A single is taken.
16.6 : Ben Stokes to P Patel, FOUR! That is an excellent finish to the over for Bangalore! A length ball on middle and off, Parthiv Patel middles his short-arm jab and gets it through wide long on for a boundary. The timing was ominous on that one.
Jofra Archer returns.
17.1 : J Archer to M Stoinis, Low full toss on the stumps, Stoinis stays leg side and drives it through towards sweeper cover. Gets a single for it.
17.2 : J Archer to P Patel, OUT! Archer gets rid of the set batsman. Parthiv looks to go big, rightly so, but can't execute his shot as nicely as he'd have liked. Full and on off from around the wicket, the slower one, the opener looks to clear long on. Can't get underneath the ball cleanly and hands a simple catch to Rahane in the deep. Got out at the wrong time, but a fine innings from Parthiv Patel comes to a close.
Moeen Ali out now.
17.3 : J Archer to M Stoinis, Full and coming back in, from over the wicket, Marcus flicks it through mid-wicket and gets off strike.
17.4 : J Archer to M Ali, Back to around the wicket, this time to Ali, it's a full toss on middle and off. The English all-rounder can only play it back to him.
17.5 : J Archer to M Ali, FOUR! Not sure he intended to go there, but he's certainly not going to complain. Extremely full and angling in on leg, Ali swings as it goes off the inner half. It races away to the fine leg fence for a boundary.
17.6 : J Archer to M Ali, Back of a length ball on off stump, Moeen pulls it through mid-wicket for one run.
18.1 : Ben Stokes to M Ali, Cleverly takes the pace off this one. A length ball on the stumps, Ali picks it up a little late and heaves it to deep mid-wicket. Single to get this over going.
18.2 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, Good work out in the deep from Gowtham. Stoinis backs away and hammers this short ball down the ground. The fielder from long off runs swiftly to his right and cuts it off, keeping the batsmen to just one.
18.3 : Ben Stokes to M Ali, Back of a length in line of the stumps, Ali swings across the line and gets it off the inside edge to short fine leg. The batsmen steal a quick one.
18.4 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, FOUR! So powerful. He's a big, strong man. Uses the angle coming into him, it's full in length, and Stoinis muscles it aerially through mid-wicket. Bisects the two fielders in the deep and gets a boundary to his name.
18.5 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, Back of a length and into the body, pulled through the square leg region for a couple of runs.
Review taken. It's for a caught behind appeal against Marcus Stoinis. Not sure how convincing the appeal is, but we've gone upstairs. Let's see what happens...
18.6 : Ben Stokes to M Stoinis, Not out! But a good delivery from Big Ben. He runs in and hits the deck hard. It's short with good pace and keeps climbing onto Stoinis who takes the pull on. It goes behind and there's a muted appeal. Rahane takes the DRS and replays show the Australian is fine.
19.1 : J Archer to M Ali, SIX! That's come right off the middle. Picks his spot and nails this exceptionally well. Archer bowls the slow one but the line is too straight, Ali clears his front leg and pummels it over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie.
19.2 : J Archer to M Ali, Full delivery aiming the base of off stump, Moeen Ali drills it to Stokes at sweeper cover for a run.
19.3 : J Archer to M Stoinis, Extremely full ball attacking the stumps, from over the wicket, Stoinis drives it to long off for a single.
19.4 : J Archer to M Ali, FOUR! Moeen Ali playing a fine knock here. Great execution from him. Full and in the slot, Ali clears his front leg and hammers it down the ground. Gowtham from long on moves to his right and dives, but still can't stop the ball from crossing the rope.
19.5 : J Archer to M Ali, Short ball in line of the stumps, Ali plays and misses. The keeper can't collect cleanly, which allows the batsmen to steal a bye.
19.6 : J Archer to M Stoinis, FOUR! Marcus Stoinis finishes things off with a boundary. Premeditates this as he goes well across his stumps early, it's a full toss. The Aussie paddles it fine down the leg side and beats short fine leg for a boundary. An expensive outing for Archer today, he finishes with figures of 4-0-47-1. BANGALORE FINISH ON 158/4.
17 off the final over and that could prove to be the difference maker at the end of it all. Stoinis and Moeen Ali, especially the latter, provided the fast runs in the death overs and got their side to a fighting total at the very least. The innings largely revolved around Parthiv Patel as Kohli, de Villiers and Hetmyer departed without doing much damage. The southpaw opener motored along to a well-deserved fifty and the two all-rounders from the middle order delivered with a late flurry.
Rajasthan won't be disappointed as such, but will certainly feel disheartened that they couldn't restrict Bangalore to under 140. There were good performances, with Gopal being the standout one as he ended with 3/12 in his 4-over spell. Archer surprisingly, who's very good, was quite expensive today, conceding 47, with 17 of them coming in the final over of the game.
Shreyas Gopal is on the sidelines for a chat. He feels lucky to have got the wickets of two world-class batsmen in the form of Kohli and de Villiers. He states that he follows his gut feeling and tries to hide the ball till as late as possible. He informs us that he tries to bowl stump to stump and hopes for the best. Mentions that he does not feel bad to go for runs as all the players here are world class. As far as the domestic circuit is concerned, he feels that there is a difference in the c
So, it's all set up for an exciting second half. Bangalore have something to bowl at, and the momentum they got towards the end could just be the thing that could push them in the run chase. This is a total that is chaseable and the dew might come into play as well. Rajasthan will back themselves to win this. Let's see how it pans out.
