0.0 : Virat Kohli, Ab de Villiers, Kieron Pollard, Rohit Sharma and a few more are the starts in action tonight. Does that get you excited? Well, I surely am. Welcome to the coverage of the 7th game of this year's Indian T20 League.
It is a clash between two teams which were beaten in their first game quite convincingly. Bangalore will be hosting Mumbai tonight. Both the teams will be eager to get their first points on the board. Who will come out victorious? We will have to wait to find out.
PITCH REPORT - Ian Bishop starts by saying this is normally a high scoring ground and we can expect another high scoring game here. Mentions there are signs of moisture and the ball should slide on but there could be some assistance for the spinners too.
TOSS - Bangalore win the toss and they elect to field!
Bangalore skipper, Virat Kohli, says they want to bowl first, as it looks like a flat wicket and he expects it to ease up as the game progresses. Informs that they are playing the same XI. He hopes to win this game and get some momentum going. Ends by saying that there is no home advantage here in Bangalore as it is a true wicket.
Mumbai skipper, Rohit Sharma, says they are confident as they have played some good cricket here. Mentions that they will try and assess the conditions as quickly as possible and then try and defend. He hopes to lead from the front here tonight.
We are all set for the action to begin! The Bangalore players make their way out to the middle. They are followed by the left-hand, right-hand combination of Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma. The former will be on strike and he will be facing Umesh Yadav. Here we go...
0.1 : U Yadav to de Kock, A little bit of swing to begin with! It is on the fuller side, tails back in from outside off. De Kock strokes it nicely but finds mid off.
0.2 : U Yadav to de Kock, Well fielded! Umesh goes full again, this time de Kock hits it a little more straighter than the last ball. Siraj though runs to his left and stops it with a dive. Saves three for his side. Mumbai though are underway.
0.3 : U Yadav to R Sharma, FOUR! A present on the very first ball for Rohit and he takes it with both hands. Down the leg side, Rohit just helps it on its way to the fine leg fence. First boundary of the game.
0.4 : U Yadav to R Sharma, Corrects his line and length as he lands it on middle and on a length. It is kept out.
0.5 : U Yadav to R Sharma, FOUR! Easy pickings! Consecutive boundaries! On the pads, Rohit just flicks it through square leg and it races away.
0.6 : U Yadav to R Sharma, A dot to end! But a very good over for Mumbai. Length ball on off, the batsman lunges and keeps it out.
Navdeep Saini to bowl from the other end.
1.1 : N Saini to de Kock, Almost a crowd catch there! Full and on middle, de Kock flicks it on the bounce to Chahal at mid-wicket who fails to collect it.
1.2 : N Saini to de Kock, A little too straight again, de Kock works it to fine leg and gets to the other end.
1.3 : N Saini to R Sharma, FOUR! Rohit is only scoring in boundaries here! His third so far. This was fortunate though. Navdeep bowls a good ball, it lands on off and jags back in. Rohit tries to keep it out but it goes off the inside edge, over the stumps and to the fine leg fence.
1.4 : N Saini to R Sharma, Outside off this time and Rohit shoulders arms to this one.
1.5 : N Saini to R Sharma, Back of a length again and on off, it is bowled at 149.5 kph. Rohit blocks it out.
1.6 : N Saini to R Sharma, FOUR! Rohit moves onto 16 and he has scored all of his runs in boundaries. This is delightful. Slightly full and on off, Rohit leans into the stroke and hits it past cover. Second boundary in the over and the second over too goes for 9.
2.1 : U Yadav to de Kock, Shorter in length and on off, de Kock guides it down to third man and takes a run.
2.2 : U Yadav to R Sharma, Extra bounce there! Shortish and outside off, this one takes off. Rohit looks to punch but it goes off the higher portion of the bat to mid off.
2.3 : U Yadav to R Sharma, Length on off again, Rohit plays it late and towards point for no runs. Good bowling.
2.4 : U Yadav to R Sharma, Just the two from the first 4 balls here. This is on middle, Rohit shuffles across and works it towards backward square leg for a single.
2.5 : U Yadav to de Kock, FOUR! That has been dismissed! Slightly short and de Kock picks the length early. He pulls it right through mid-wicket and the ball races away. A boundary at least in the first three overs.
2.6 : U Yadav to de Kock, A single to end as de Kock works this towards square leg. Mumbai are off to a very good start here.
3.1 : N Saini to de Kock, Extremely full on middle, de Kock jams it out towards mid on for a quick run.
3.2 : N Saini to R Sharma, On a length and on off, Rohit is half-forward as he keeps it out.
3.3 : N Saini to R Sharma, SIX! He has picked the bones out of that one! Short and on middle, once again, Rohit picks the length very early. He transfers his weight onto the back foot and pulls it over the mid-wicket fence for the first biggie.
3.4 : N Saini to R Sharma, Another confident drive to cover but for no runs. The ball seems to be skidding on here.
3.5 : N Saini to R Sharma, Again that has rocketed towards the mid off fielder after hitting the middle. No runs for that shot but it was pleasing to watch.
3.6 : N Saini to R Sharma, Three dots to end! So a good comeback by the bowler. Only 7 from it despite it going for a biggie. Length and outside off, Rohit opens the face of the bat and guides it to point.
Mohammed Siraj is on now.
4.1 : M Siraj to de Kock, Starts off with a fuller length delivery, de Kock mistimes it to mid on.
4.2 : M Siraj to de Kock, Good bowling! Cramping the batsman for room by bowling it closer to the body. De Kock makes room and tries to cut but is beaten for pace.
4.3 : M Siraj to de Kock, SIX! All the way! Trademark de Kock this. Takes a few steps down the ground and then smashes the length ball over the long on fence. First biggie for him.
4.4 : M Siraj to de Kock, Direct hit and it would have been close! Good running in the end! Length delivery around middle, de Kock strokes it to the left of Siraj. He makes a half-stop. De Kock then goes for a run but Siraj gets to it quickly. He then turns and has a shy at his end but misses. Had he hit, de Kock's dive would not have saved him.
4.5 : M Siraj to R Sharma, Back of a length on off, Sharma guides it to point.
4.6 : M Siraj to R Sharma, FOUR! Bludgeoned! That has gone to the fence like a tracer bullet. Length and outside off, Sharma stands tall and smashes it past the fielder at mid off. An expensive start from Siraj, 11 from his first.
5.1 : N Saini to de Kock, Well fielded! De Kock takes a few steps ahead and then hits it towards mid on. The fielder there does well to run to his right and stop it.
5.2 : N Saini to de Kock, A good bumper there! De Kock may not have been expecting it but he evades it at the very end.
5.3 : N Saini to de Kock, DROPPED AND FOUR! That is like rubbing salt to the wound. Grandhomme is the culprit. That should have been taken. Full and on middle, de Kock flicks it but uppishly towards mid-wicket. Colin there stretches his two hands upwards and tries to catch it but the ball bursts through and then goes to the fence behind. Big let off this, de Kock can be very dangerous here.
5.4 : N Saini to de Kock, The yorker and Saini follows the batsman. De Kock jams it out.
5.5 : N Saini to de Kock, Good short ball! De Kock is a little late in the pull shot. It goes towards square leg for a run.
5.6 : N Saini to R Sharma, FOUR! Excellent way to end the Powerplay for Mumbai. 9 from it and it also brings the 50-run stand up. Ideal stand for Mumbai. Saini bowls this full and on off, Rohit lofts it over covers to bag another boundary. All Mumbai in the first six.
Strategic break. Also, Yuzvendra Chahal is into the attack now.
6.1 : Y Chahal to de Kock, Floated full and outside off, de Kock goes for the reverse paddle but fails to make connection.
6.2 : Y Chahal to de Kock, Short and wide outside off, de Kock cuts it towards short third man. The fielder there moves to his right and tries to stop it, but fails to do so. The batsmen take two.
6.3 : Y Chahal to de Kock, OUT! This is what you call impact! What a player, Yuzvendra Chahal. Gets rid of the dangerous de Kock in his very first over. He tosses it up on leg stump, Quinton de Kock moves across, maybe a little too much, as he looks to drag the reverse sweep on the off side. It goes off the under edge and disturbs the stumps behind. The break does the job for the hosts, they get their first breakthrough.
Suryakumar Yadav walks in at no.3.
6.4 : Y Chahal to S Yadav, Off the mark straightaway. Suryakumar drives it to mid on and takes a single.
6.5 : Y Chahal to R Sharma, Full and on the stumps, played back to the bowler.

8.1 : Y Chahal to S Yadav, FOUR BYES! Gone right through everyone! Full and the leg break, a little quicker in pace and it keeps a little low, Yadav gets low to sweep but fails to make connection. It goes under his bat, through the keeper's legs and away to the boundary line behind.
8.2 : Y Chahal to S Yadav, Not much spin this time, flicked through mid-wicket for a single.
8.3 : Y Chahal to R Sharma, Turning away from around off, slightly shorter in length, it's punched through to sweeper cover for one.
8.4 : Y Chahal to S Yadav, Played through mid-wicket by the batsman. The batsmen have run through for a single.
8.5 : Y Chahal to R Sharma, FOUR! Poor line and he pays the price for it. Full on the pads, Rohit kneels down and sweeps it down the leg side. Nobody out there in the deep, so the ball runs away to the fence.
8.6 : Y Chahal to R Sharma, The Mumbai skipper moves inside the line, closes the face and nudges it in front of square leg and crosses over.
9.1 : de Grandhomme to R Sharma, Really full from Colin de Grandhomme, just around off, Sharma hammers it straight back down the ground. Hetmyer from long off moves swiftly to his left, slides and stops the ball. Gives it to de Villiers who throws it back in. Two runs are taken.
9.2 : de Grandhomme to R Sharma, Outside the line of off stump, run down to third man for a run.
9.3 : de Grandhomme to S Yadav, Slower back of a length delivery outside off, Yadav drags the pull to deep mid-wicket and changes ends.
9.4 : de Grandhomme to R Sharma, FOUR! Slog sweeps a pace bowler. Wow. That's the kind of form he's in this evening. De Grandhomme attacks the off stick with a full ball and Rohit gets low fast. He slog sweeps it aerially in front of square leg and beats the two men in the deep.
9.5 : de Grandhomme to R Sharma, Drives this full delivery through the gap in the covers and manages to get off strike.
9.6 : de Grandhomme to S Yadav, High full toss on the stumps, punched through wide mid on by SKY. Single taken.
Umesh Yadav is back on.
10.1 : U Yadav to S Yadav, FOUR! Welcome back into the attack Yadav! Short and on off, SKY is quick to latch onto it. He pulls it through mid-wicket. The outfield is such that if it is in the gap, it is a certain boundary.
10.2 : U Yadav to S Yadav, Full and on the pads, Suryakumar stylishly flicks it towards fine leg for a single.
10.3 : U Yadav to R Sharma, Makes room but Yadav follows him. Rohit mistimes it to mid off.
10.4 : U Yadav to R Sharma, OUT! In the air... taken! There goes the Hitman, two short of a half ton. A wicket completely against the run of play. Bangalore will be delighted as Rohit was looking extremely good. A delivery which is on the shorter side and it is outside off. It skids through. Rohit looks to pull but the ball hurries onto him. His bat turns in his hands and he ends up mistiming it high in the air towards long on. Siraj there runs in and takes a sliding catch. The bowling change has

U Yadav to Y Singh, Off the mark is Yuvraj as he works it towards fine leg and gets to the other end.
Mohammed Siraj is back.
11.1 : M Siraj to Y Singh, BEATEN! Length and around off, this one straightens a touch. Yuvraj pokes at it tentatively and gets beaten.
11.2 : M Siraj to Y Singh, A little too straight, YS works it nicely through square leg for a single.
11.3 : M Siraj to S Yadav, Angles this one into the pads, Yadav looks to whip it but misses to get hit high on the pads.

11.5 : M Siraj to Y Singh, Good length on middle, Yuvraj defends it. 2 runs so far from this over, a ball to go though and we have seen quite a few times the last ball spoiling the over.
11.6 : M Siraj to Y Singh, This time it does not though as only a run comes from it. Yuvraj drives it square on the off side. There is a fielder in the deep. Only a run. 3 from it.

12.5 : M Ali to S Yadav, SIX! Into the stands! A shot with not a lot of risk as it was with the turn. Yadav clears his front leg and then tonks it into the long on stands. Brings the 100 up for Mumbai.
12.6 : M Ali to S Yadav, FOUR! 10 from the last two deliveries and 13 from the over. Not what Bangalore wanted as they were starting to tighten things up here. Top shot this from SKY. He whips this through mid-wicket. It is in the gap and it races away to the fence.
Yuzvendra Chahal is back on.
13.1 : Y Chahal to Y Singh, SIX! That is huge! He has really hit that hard. Yes, it is a poor ball but it still has to be put away. Short and on middle, Yuvraj goes back and pulls it over the square leg fence.
13.2 : Y Chahal to Y Singh, SIX! Back-to-back maximums! Yuvraj Singh is on fire here. What a clean hit. Chahal gives it air this time but lands it very full on off. Yuvraj hits it over the bowler's head. The connection is such that it goes all the way.
13.3 : Y Chahal to Y Singh, SIX! High and handsome! Three in a row! Another poor ball. Short and outside off, Yuvraj goes back and powers it over the long on stands. Will he now make it 4 in 4 here?
13.4 : Y Chahal to Y Singh, OUT! No, he does not! He does look to go for it but falls in the attempt to do so. Chahal is brave enough to toss it up outside off. It may have been the googly. Yuvraj looks to clear long off this time but does not get it off the middle. It goes towards the fielder there. Siraj for a second seems to have misjudged it but then takes it with both his hands raised above his head. Also, a tumble after that. Chahal gets his second and Yuvraj walks back disappointed. Not su

15.3 : Y Chahal to S Yadav, OUT! Chahal gets another wicket! His third! Now, two new batsmen will be out in the middle. Just what Bangalore would have wanted. This is tossed up outside off, SKY looks to go over covers but the ball turns. It hits the bottom part and goes high up in the air. Moeen Ali from cover-point runs to his right and takes a good catch. End of a very good innings from Suryakumar Yadav but Mumbai would have wanted him to stay out there. Bangalore on the other hand are managing
Strategic break has been signaled! Krunal Pandya is the new man in.
15.4 : Y Chahal to K Pollard, On the pads, Pollard flicks it through square leg and takes a single.
15.5 : Y Chahal to K Pandya, DROPPED! But a top effort from Chahal! Almost gets his 4th. Tosses it up around off, Pandya looks to go with the turn. He though plays it with hard hands. It goes uppishly to the left of the bowler who dives and gets a hand to it but can't hang on. The batsmen take a run. That needed to stick but it did not.
15.6 : Y Chahal to K Pollard, WIDE! Down the leg side, Pollard looks to flick but misses. It has been wided.
Y Chahal to K Pollard, OUT! Second in the over for Chahal and he gets rid of the dangerous Pollard. Finishes with a four-fer does the leggie. Half the side in the hut for the visitors and they seem to be losing their way a little. Once again great courage shown by Chahal as he gives it a lot of air and land it outside off. Pollard looks to go inside out but the little turn away does him in. He ends up slicing it towards the man at sweeper cover. Hetmyer there settles under it and takes it.
Hardik Pandya to bat next. Also, Umesh Yadav back on to bowl.
16.1 : U Yadav to H Pandya, Good length delivery around the off stump channel, Hardik defends it from inside the crease.
16.2 : U Yadav to H Pandya, Full in length, quite close to off again, Hardik looks to flick but gets a leading edge square on the off side. Krunal only wanted one, but Hardik took off for the second. Fortunately, the throw came in at the keeper's end and he had enough time to go back. The batsmen get a single.
16.3 : U Yadav to K Pandya, OUT! Another Mumbai wicket down! Bangalore slowly rising on top of the game here. Umesh bangs it in short and down leg, Krunal pulls this away. Doesn't get enough height on it as Saini out in the deep leaps and takes it just inside the rope. The umpire checks upstairs whether his foot touched the rope and also if Umesh overstepped his line, and it's fine on both accounts. The elder Pandya has to depart.
Mitchell McClenaghan to be the new batsman in.
16.4 : U Yadav to M McClenaghan, Back of a length on off, MM guides it to point.
16.5 : U Yadav to M McClenaghan, Another dot as Mitchell plays it with an opened face bat to point.

Mohammed Siraj is back into the attack.
17.1 : M Siraj to M McClenaghan, OUT! Another one bites the dust! McClenaghan has played it on and now Bangalore are into the bowlers. This is bowled outside off and it is on a length. MM goes after it away from his body but only manages an inside edge onto the stumps.
0.0 : Mayank Markande is the new man in.
17.2 : M Siraj to M Markande, FOUR! Off the mark in style and these are handy runs for the visitors. On the pads and Markande works it through square leg. It is in the gap and it races to the fence for a boundary.

17.4 : M Siraj to H Pandya, FOUR! Pandya now gets off the mark in style! What a shot that is. He shuffles right across tempting the batsman to bowl on his pads. Siraj falls for the trap as he does so. Pandya flicks it through square leg and a boundary results.

18.1 : N Saini to H Pandya, FOUR! And Hardik goes bang! Full toss on off stump, the younger Pandya, with an absolutely straight bat, hammers it straight over the bowler's head, bisecting the two men out in the deep. He holds the pose for the cameras too.
18.2 : N Saini to H Pandya, Back of a length on the fifth stump line, Hardik swings hard across the line but fails to make any sort of connection.
18.3 : N Saini to H Pandya, SIX! That's gone a looooooonnnnnggggggg waaaaayyyyy! Hardik Pandya makes the sweetest of connections when he dispatches this. Short of a good length on the stumps, the Mumbai all-rounder stands his ground and muscles the pull deep into the mid-wicket stands.
18.4 : N Saini to H Pandya, No ball! Too high from Saini. The full toss is above waist height, Hardik swings and gets a top edge which skies on the leg side. The keeper comes under it but fails to catch it. The batsmen take two runs. Free Hit coming up on the next delivery...
N Saini to H Pandya, Good ball on the Free Hit from Saini. It's a yorker outside off, the batter drills it through the off side for a run.
18.5 : N Saini to M Markande, Full delivery attacking the stumps, Markande puts bat on ball, places it towards mid on and scrambles to the other end.
18.6 : N Saini to H Pandya, Excellent delivery to end the over. Yorker just outside off, Hardik can only play it back to the bowler. 15 runs off it, though Mumbai will feel they could have had more.
19.1 : M Siraj to M Markande, OUT! Eventually, he's given out caught behind. Length ball cutting in off the deck, Markande tries to run it down to third man with an open face but the ball seemingly goes off the inside edge. The batsmen cross over and there is an appeal for a run out as well, but it's caught behind. Hardik won't be on strike for the next ball.
Jasprit Bumrah in next for Mumbai.
The DRS has been taken. It's for an lbw decision against Bumrah and Bangalore have referred it upstairs.
19.2 : M Siraj to J Bumrah, Not out! Bumrah survives. Clearly going down leg. Full ball and it catches Bumrah low on the pads as he misses his flick shot. It rolls away on the leg side and the batsmen take a run. Bangalore review it but much to their dismay, replays don't rule it in their favour. A leg bye is signalled.
19.3 : M Siraj to H Pandya, SIX! Hardik Pandya giving his side a late impetus here. This is exceptional hitting. Full ball and it's right in his slot, he stands his ground and tonks it over the long on fence for a maximum.
19.4 : M Siraj to H Pandya, Wide! Slower short ball just around off, Hardik swings and misses. Was high, the batsman was looking for a wide, and got it too.
M Siraj to H Pandya, Leading edge which lands safely. Full delivery curling back in, Hardik looks to whip it away on the leg side but it pops off the leading edge and falls safely in the covers.
19.5 : M Siraj to H Pandya, SIX! Take a bow, Hardik Pandya. This is superb. Superb. He stands deep inside his crease, it's bowled full again, but due to his starting position he's able to get under the ball and slog it over mid-wicket for a biggie.
19.6 : M Siraj to H Pandya, Extremely full and well outside off, Hardik drills it through cover-point. Sweeper cover comes across to his left and keeps the batsmen to just the one. MUMBAI FINISH ON 187/8!
Hardik Pandya's late flurry has put Mumbai in a good position come the end of the innings. 30 runs came in the last two overs which provided the visitors the momentum they so desperately needed. The innings largely revolved around skipper Rohit, he was in good touch and looked set for a big one, but was dismissed against the run of play. Yuvraj too was going great guns, but got dismissed after hitting Chahal for three sixes in a row. Post that, the wickets kept falling and Bangalore creeped thei
Bangalore did bowl well for the most part. Started well decently, did well in the middle overs and post Yuvraj's dismissal, scalped more wickets in clumps. It was just their death bowling which let them down. Chahal starred with his 4-wicket haul, though he did go for a fair few runs. Siraj and Umesh bagged 2 each to their name.
Bangalore won't be too disheartened seeing the score on the board. It is the Chinnaswamy and with the dew to play its part and the kind of firepower they have in their ranks, they will back themselves to gun this down. However, as it has been seen over the years, their batting order does tend to collapse out of nowhere. Will be an interesting second half as Mumbai have some quality bowlers.
Yuzvendra Chahal who is up for an interview starts by saying the wicket is very good to bat on. Mentions you need to vary your pace on it and he tried doing so. Further adds he is used to going for runs but he still tries to bowl the best ball and he always looks for wickets. Ends by saying the total is a good one and it is not easy to contain.
0.0 : We are back for the chase. The players and umpires are out in the middle. Moeen Ali and Parthiv Patel will open the batting for Bangalore. Mitchell McClenaghan will start the proceedings for Mumbai.
0.1 : M McClenaghan to P Patel, Bangalore are underway as Patel flicks this with the angle through square leg for a single.
0.2 : M McClenaghan to M Ali, Good delivery there! McClenaghan rolls his fingers over the ball and lands it on middle. Moeen looks to work it on the leg side but closes the face of the bat a little too early. He gets a soft leading edge to point.
0.3 : M McClenaghan to M Ali, Another leading edge! This time it is in the air but safe! Once again Moeen closes the face of the bat a little too early. It goes off the leading edge, uppishly through the vacant gully region for a run. Ali is off the mark.
0.4 : M McClenaghan to P Patel, FOUR! Too easy for Patel. He feeds on such deliveries. On the pads, Patel works it through mid-wicket and the ball races away. First boundary for Bangalore.
0.5 : M McClenaghan to P Patel, Corrects his line and bowls it on middle, it is defended.
0.6 : M McClenaghan to P Patel, A single to end! 7 from the first over. Good start for the hosts. Patel taps this towards mid on and takes a single.

1.1 : L Malinga to P Patel, Slower ball to begin with. Patel taps it towards cover and takes a run.
1.2 : L Malinga to M Ali, Just short! It is full and on off, Ali drives it uppishly but just short of mid off. Ali has not started in a confident manner.
1.3 : L Malinga to M Ali, Once again, he is totally done in by the slower one. Way too early into the shot. He somehow gets bat to it. The ball rolls towards square leg for a single.
1.4 : L Malinga to P Patel, Inside edge! Full and this one tails back in. Parthiv looks to drive but gets an inside edge onto his pads.
1.5 : L Malinga to P Patel, This is top, top stuff from the Mumbai legend! Brings the slower one in play, it is outside off. Parthiv does not pick it, hangs his bat out and gets beaten.
1.6 : L Malinga to P Patel, A single to end a top, top over by Malinga. Patel works it to fine leg for a single. Just the three from the second.
2.1 : M McClenaghan to P Patel, This is angled into the batsman, Patel takes a few steps ahead and then flicks it through square leg for a run.
2.2 : M McClenaghan to M Ali, Ali makes room and MM follows him with a yorker. Ali jams it out towards mid on for a single.
2.3 : M McClenaghan to P Patel, FOUR! Terrific shot! Slightly short and Parthiv pounces on it. He pulls it over mid-wicket for a one bounce boundary. Bangalore will hope this will get them going.
2.4 : M McClenaghan to P Patel, Now shuffles right across but McClenaghan bowls the slower one. Parthiv works it around the corner and takes one.
2.5 : M McClenaghan to M Ali, FOUR! Top edge and a boundary! Second in the over. Short and this is bowled at a good height. Moeen does not get on top of the bounce but still goes for the pull. It takes the top edge and over the keeper's head for a boundary.
2.6 : M McClenaghan to M Ali, SIX! Right out of the screws! First maximum of the game. 17 from MM's second. Another gift from him. Full and on the pads. Moeen whips it right off the middle and into the square leg stand.
Jasprit Bumrah is into the attack.
3.1 : J Bumrah to P Patel, Around middle, PP flicks it towards mid-wicket.
0.0 : A direct hit and Moeen Ali is surely short. He has already started to walk back but to be sure the umpire has taken it upstairs.
3.2 : J Bumrah to P Patel, OUT! And that is why he was walking back as he is way short! The opening stand has been broken in the last way Bangalore would have wanted. Just as Moeen Ali seemed to get going, he has been run out. A suicidal run to be honest. Parthiv works it towards mid-wicket and sets off. Ali is a touch hesitant but then has to go for it as PP is halfway down the track. Rohit from mid-wicket gets to the ball quickly, picks it up and hits the bull's eye at the striker's end. The Mu
Virat Kohli is the new man in.
3.3 : J Bumrah to V Kohli, The batsman shows the full face of the bat and defends the ball off the back foot.
3.4 : J Bumrah to V Kohli, FOUR! In the air... but away from mid on. Kohli would have had his heart in the mouth for a moment. Short and on middle, Kohli pulls it uppishly towards mid on. The fielder is a little wide and a boundary results.
3.5 : J Bumrah to V Kohli, FOUR! This time an edgy boundary! Kohli won't mind though. Bumrah goes full and outside off, Kohli looks to force it through the off side but only manages an outside edge. It is very fine, no chance for third man and consecutive boundaries for the Bangalore skipper.
3.6 : J Bumrah to V Kohli, FOUR! Make that three in a row! Kohli has come out all guns blazing. Best of the boundaries these. Another length delivery outside off. Kohli waits for it and at the very end opens the face of the bat. It races through cover-point for a boundary. So two dots and a wicket on the first three balls, three boundaries to end the action-packed over.
Hardik Pandya is into the attack.
4.1 : H Pandya to P Patel, Length delivery on off, Patel flicks it towards mid-wicket for a single.
4.2 : H Pandya to V Kohli, On a good length on middle and leg, Kohli looks to flick but gets an inside edge onto the pads. Pandya appeals for lbw but the umpire shakes his head.

5.4 : K Pandya to V Kohli, Kohli now flicks it through mid-wicket and gets to the other end.
5.5 : K Pandya to P Patel, Very full and on the pads, PP flicks it to short fine leg. The fielder fumbles but no runs conceded.
5.6 : K Pandya to P Patel, A couple of dots to end but another expensive over comes to an end! Pandya bowls it flatter and on the leg stump, Patel looks to flick but misses to get hit high on the pads. KP is appealing but he is the only one doing so. End of the first six and it is Bangalore who are on top after it. They are going at 10 per over and have lost only the single wicket. They need another 128 in 84 balls.
Strategic break. Mayank Markande is on now.

6.4 : M Markande to V Kohli, The googly, Kohli picks it and works it through mid-wicket for a run.
6.5 : M Markande to P Patel, OUT! TIMBER! Mayank strikes in his first over. Breaks the stand which was threatening to take the game away from Mumbai. Exactly what Rohit wanted. It is the googly which does the trick for him. It is flatter and outside off, Patel goes back and looks to cut which means he picked the googly. The ball though is very close to play that shot. PP only manages an inside edge which ricochets onto the stumps behind. Patel walks back after getting a start.
6.6 : M Markande to de Villiers, DROPPED! Has Yuvi dropped the game? A reprieve off the very first ball for de Villiers. This is the slider and outside off, de Villiers goes back and looks to punch it through the off side. He only manages an outside edge towards first slip. Yuvraj at first seems to be heading towards his right but then has react as the ball is to his left. He fails to do so and can't hang on. Mayank could have had two-in-two. Nevertheless a successful over comes to an end by him.

8.6 : M Markande to de Villiers, Howzzat? And once again the umpire rules it in the favor of Bangalore. This time it is for an LBW. The impact was outside off. De Villiers goes for the sweep again but misses. It hits his pads. Another excellent over by Markande, 3 from it.

10.5 : M Markande to de Villiers, Sensible batting! Got a biggie on the last ball and now works this one down to long on for a single.
10.6 : M Markande to V Kohli, Kohli also plays the last ball sensibly. With already 12 from the over, he pushes the last ball down to long off and a run is taken.
Lasith Malinga is back on.
11.1 : L Malinga to V Kohli, Fuller and slower outside off, Kohli drives it firmly through the covers and comes back for the second.
11.2 : L Malinga to V Kohli, Back of a length coming back in on middle, Kohli moves inside the line and nudges it behind square leg. Runs the first one hard, wants to come back for the second but slips at the other end. So the batsmen take just the one.
11.3 : L Malinga to de Villiers, Short of a good length on off, it sits up for de Villiers who stands tall and pulls it along the turf to deep mid-wicket. Rotates strike without any trouble.

He bangs this in short, it comes at good pace and hurries Kohli into the pull shot. He can only manage a top edge and the ball lobs towards mid-wicket. Hardik Pandya there settles under it and takes a safe catch. Crucial partnership of 49 has come to a close.

This short ball sits up for him, de Villiers stands tall and heaves it towards wide long on. Suryakumar Yadav out in the deep comes in to his right and dives, but the ball falls short. Goes through him and it's a boundary. Hardik isn't pleased with the effort.

15.3 : L Malinga to S Hetmyer, A little too straight in line, it is flicked away on the leg side for one.
15.4 : L Malinga to de Villiers, FOUR! There's a massive appeal for a leg before, but the umpire has signalled runs. Rohit Sharma has a chat with his bowler and keeper, and decides not to take the DRS. Good decision in the end, replay shows there is some bat involved. Full toss on the stumps, de Villiers gets low to slog sweep but it takes the inside edge, goes off the pad and runs away to the fine leg fence.

He adjusts in crease, gives it the full swing of his bat and clears the mid-wicket boundary comfortably. 20 from the over, 31 from the last 2.
Strategic break. 41 needed in the final 4 overs. A set AB de Villiers is out there in the middle with Shimron Hetmyer to partner him. Still a tough task, but anything can happen with these two. Jasprit Bumrah's two overs will be the key for Mumbai. We're in for a show in these final few overs. And, here comes Bumrah to bowl.
16.1 : J Bumrah to S Hetmyer, OUT! Would you look at that? He's come on and already got a breakthrough. This is what the best in the business do. They deliver. It's full on the stumps, Hetmyer backs away and tries to go big downtown. Mistimes it altogether and hands a simple enough catch to Hardik Pandya at mid off. A bit poor from Hetmyer, all he needed to do was give the strike to AB. Nothing more.
0.0 : Colin de Grandhomme is out now to bat.
16.2 : J Bumrah to de Villiers, Fifty for AB de Villiers, his 29th in the Indian T20 League. He gets to the milestone with a punch through the covers for a single. He's the key, he knows that. He'll want to finish it off for his side.

17.4 : H Pandya to de Villiers, SIX! Mr. 360 for a reason! He somehow finds a way to score in any area. Look at that! Full and wide outside off, de Villiers gets down, reaches out to it and just hacks it over covers. Clears the leaping fielder just inside the rope and gets a maximum to his name.
17.5 : H Pandya to de Villiers, SIX! Whoever might have mentioned that he's finished, they probably might want to reconsider. Wow. With him already in form, Hardik isn't helping himself with a juicy full toss. AB de Villiers slams it into the mid-wicket stands for half a dozen.
17.6 : H Pandya to de Villiers, Sharp bumper. Hardik ends the over well but he's conceded 18 in it. Bouncer on middle, AB tries to hook but misses. 22 needed off the final 2 overs.

18.3 : J Bumrah to de Grandhomme, WIDE! De Kock is furious with the decision. Furious! Can understand too, it does look a big dicey. Short ball outside off, de Grandhomme looks to hit it away but misses. If Quinton could review this, he probably would have.
J Bumrah to de Grandhomme, OUT! Gone next ball. Bumrah with another wicket. Been an exceptional over so far. Short of a length outside off, de Grandhomme lofts it over covers. Never in control of this, he skies it towards the man in the deep. Krunal out there moves to his right, gets under the ball and gobbles it up.
Shivam Dubey walks out now. Big moment ahead in front of the youngster. AB de Villiers will be on strike though.
18.4 : J Bumrah to de Villiers, Superb ball. Takes AB by surprise with the bumper. The batsman looks to take the hook shot on but misses. No wide given, not this time. It's the perfect ball.
18.5 : J Bumrah to de Villiers, Running out of superlatives for his man. What a bowler. Should be called Deadshot if he isn't already. He doesn't miss his mark yet again, spears in the yorker on middle, de Villiers digs it out towards mid on for a single.
18.6 : J Bumrah to S Dubey, Yorker on off, Dubey drives it to mid off and takes a single. Just 5 runs and a wicket off Bumrah's final over. Beautiful. He finishes with figures of 4-0-20-3.
Lasith Malinga to bowl the final over of the game. He has 16 runs to defend.
19.1 : L Malinga to S Dubey, SIX! And young Dubey goes big... really big! First ball of the over and he sends it sailing. Full and right in the slot, the southpaw stays deep inside the crease and smokes it over long off for half a dozen. 11 needed off 5 balls.
19.2 : L Malinga to S Dubey, Dropped! A bit difficult as he's running back, but Bumrah should have taken it, especially at this stage. Slower length ball on off, Dubey swings across the line and gets a top edge as he's early into the shot. It goes over short third man, Bumrah runs back and it comes to his palms, but he can't hang on. Single taken.
19.3 : L Malinga to de Villiers, Absolutely bang on. The Malinga of old. A pinpoint yorker on the stumps, AB digs it out off the inner half on the leg side and takes a run.
19.4 : L Malinga to S Dubey, Misses out! He should have put it away, he knows that. A juicy full toss outside off, Dubey hits it to sweeper cover and gets de Villiers back on strike. 8 needed off 2. Need a big hit now. At least a boundary.
19.5 : L Malinga to de Villiers, Only a single. Malinga with another good yorker. De Villiers can only manage to hit it to long on and take a single. Dubey has to nail this and clear the fence. Can the young man pull something special out of his hat? Big moment awaits...
19.6 : L Malinga to S Dubey, Lasith Malinga... yes, my man! What an amazing over. Amazing. Rolling the years back, isn't he? This is right in the blockhole, Shivam Dubey can only hit it aerially towards wide long on. Rohit moves to his left, Pollard comes from deep mid-wicket to his right, both collide but no harm done. No run taken either but it doesn't matter. MUMBAI WIN BY 6 RUNS! But hold on! What's happened here? Replays are up on the screen and they show that Malinga has overstepped on the
Seems we have a new topic for debate for the next few days. It was the Ashwin-Buttler Mankad incident a few matches now, it's the Malinga overstepping one tonight. Every point matter in this competition, so how much will it affect them as the tournament goes on? Remains to be seen. Either way, Bangalore did well to get close, but the fact that they weren't in a more comfortable position come the final over will be something they will ponder about.
Parthiv and Kohli were going along well after losing Ali early. Then the skipper joined hands with de Villiers and the two were cruising along well till Bumrah got Kohli against the run of play. AB carried on, kept his side in the hunt by scoring a fine fifty. 40 runs were needed in the final 3 overs, which is when de Villiers pounded 18 runs off Hardik Pandya's over. It came down to 22 from 12, then 17 from the last one, and then 7 off the last ball, when Malinga bowled the no ball which wasn't
Mumbai were put under the pump for the most part, especially in the second half of the innings. De Villiers and Kohli were motoring along well, especially the former who went berserk towards the end. But, the visitors' were phenomenal in the death overs. And when you have two of the best in the business, you always have a chance. Bumrah, who was the best bowler of the night for the tourists, and Malinga put on an incredible death bowling display in the last 3 overs and eventually got their side
Bangalore captain, Virat Kohli, (On the no ball incident) says this is cricket at the highest level and the umpire should have spotted that. On his team's performance, states that they should have finished the innings with the ball better. Reckons that they batted well but could not get over the line. Adds that AB de Villiers needed support and he did not get it much. Feels that they need to be smart at the death with the ball and their pacers need to learn. Continues saying that the responsibil
Krunal Pandya also comes in for a chat. He says that it was a great game of cricket. Credits the way Bumrah bowled and says he is an outstanding player. Appreciates the effort from Hardik towards the end and he hopes he does this on consistent basis.
Mumbai captain, Rohit Sharma, says these mistakes (the no ball incident) are not good for the game of cricket. He feels the wide which was given in the 19th over was not one and that too was a poor decision. Adds that the TV replays should be used more often in such scenarios. Further adds that anything over 180 is a fighting score, not a safe one but their bowlers did their job. States that they were always in the game, that they did not panic and stuck to their strengths. Applauds Lasith Malin
Man of the Match, Jasprit Bumrah, says he just focuses on the situation in front of him and backs himself. Mentions that he had a plan against every batsman tonight and it came off well. Ends by saying that his shoulder is completely fine.
We've come to the end of a rather, well, eventful affair. We had everything in this game. Mumbai pick up their first win of the season, while Bangalore still remain in search of theirs. Next up, we have Hyderabad hosting Rajasthan on Friday, at 2000 local (1430 GMT). Join in for that one. Cheers!
