The Railways and Indian Army will carry out vital work on the foot-overbridge (FOB) at Elphinstone Road-Parel station between January 26 to 28. However, the mega block will be during night hours so the chances of peak hour trains getting affected remain low.

"We will be carrying out a 5-hour block on the night of January 26-27 at Elphinstone Road," confirmed Mukul Jain, Divisional Railway Manager (Mumbai), Western Railway. The block will be from 12 midnight to 5 am. Trains on both fast and slow lines will remain cancelled. The work will comprise of launching decks (like girders) for the FOB at this station due to which all five lines towards Churchgate and Virar will remain affected. On January 27-28, the CR administration will continue work on the same FOB.

The Army has been carrying out work on the three FOBs for the past few days. The deadline for the same is likely to be pushed from January 31 to February 15.
