Former AAP leader, Mayank Gandhi said that due to Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) behaviour, people will never "trust alternative narrative for another 50 years". Gandhi was talking during his book launch "AAP and Down", which documents the AAP party and the India Against Corruption (IAC) movement which he was a part of.

The book release took place at Crossword, Kemps Corner on Wednesday in which an interaction with him and co-author, Shrey Shah was curated by journalist Nikhil Wagle. Gandhi said the book will serve and tell people part of the history that included his association with India Against Corruption (IAC) and AAP when he was with Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal.

On Arvind being an autocratic and arrogant man, Wagle asked why Gandhi accused him of being that when he was always like that? "His autocracy and arrogance has gone far beyond other parties. Can you imagine Modi disbanding the Maharashtra unit in one sentence. That is what Arvind has done. For him he is the party," said Gandhi.

Recalling the time when it (crumbling of the AAP) started, Gandhi said that it was in 2013 when Arvind wanted to join hands with Congress. "In the political affairs committee, five people were against and four were for it. Arvind said you all are only for recommendations and I will take a decision. That is when I realised that this man can do anything for power," said Gandhi.

On Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav falling out, Gandhi said, "They gave 23 tickets to people from other parties. Prashant and Yogendra had objections. Arvind said lets wait for elections to be over. After election he did not speak about it. It was not just them being removed but the way they were removed. Now he has someone who was in Congress who will head the state unit, someone who was in Congress against who Manish Sissodia keeps accusing but he is now party MP. They have included someone who was with Samajwadi Party and served jail term. I feel what was I doing in this party for so long?," said Gandhi.
