A local court today sent Himayat Baig, alleged mastermind of Pune's German Bakery bomb blast, in judicial custody till November 8.

Shaikh Lalbaba alias Bilal, arrested for plotting terror attacks in Maharashtra, was also sent in 14-day judicial remand.

Baig and Bilal, nabbed by Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad last month, were produced before chief judicial magistrate KD Boche this afternoon for further custody.

Baig is accused of masterminding the February 13 explosion in which 17 persons, including foreigners, were killed at German Bakery, a popular eatery in Pune's upscale Koregaon Park area. The 29-year-old is a resident of Udgir in Latur district in Central Maharashtra.

Baig had gone to Colombo where he underwent training and also received funds for terror acts, ATS had said earlier.

According to the ATS, Bilal conducted recce of important locations like the city-based Maharashtra Police Academy and the Army camp at Deolali near here.

Bilal, an alleged aide of Baig and booked under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, was apprehended from Nashik's Satpur locality.

Police had claimed to have seized RDX and other bomb-making material from them.
