Pune youths thrash journalist

Rakesh Kunte, a photojournalist with a Marathi daily, was assaulted by two youths when he was taking pictures of a traffic jam in the vicinity of Kakasaheb Gadgil Bridge on Saturday evening.

Ajay Anil Khedekar (22) of Gokhalenagar and Kshitij Pardhe were picked up from the spot by the police, while Kabir Vijay Marwadi (18) fled taking advantage of the chaos.

The trio had indulged in a brawl on the bridge during the busy evening hours resulting in a traffic jam.

When Kunte was taking photographs of the snarl, the youths attacked him brutally. The victim suffered leg injuries. Filing of a police complaint was on till late in the night.
