On Saturday, Neeraj Chopra got the whole world talking after winning India's first gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The man dominated the game from his very first throw and even progressed to breach the 87.58m-mark. He got to that score on his very second throw. This win got all Indian fans on their feet.
Milkha Singh, PT Usha, and Anju Bobby George were the other Indians who had come close to winning a medal in athletics at the Olympic Games. They, however, missed the podium by the smallest of margins.
The javelin thrower took the opportunity and dedicated the medal to all the veteran athletes who missed out on a podium finish.

The 23-year-old Subedar in the Indian Army who became an overnight sensation has received a lot of awards and rewards.
* Haryana Government has announced a Rs 6 crore cash prize along with a class I category government job, even though he already holds a rank in the military.
* The Punjab government has announced a cash reward of Rs 2 crore.
* Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced cash rewards for all medal winners, including Rs 1 crore cash price for Neeraj.
* Manipur cabinet has also extended their support with a Rs 1 crore cash reward.
* Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has announced a cash reward of Rs 1 crore and will be creating a special jersey with number 8758 commemorating Neeraj's throw distance that won him the gold medal.
* Businessman Anand Mahindra has announced a gift of SUV XUV 700 for Neeraj.
