Additional signages will be put up at both Jangpura and Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium metro stations where details about the nearby gates of the stadium will be mentioned.
Delhi metro has made elaborate arrangements for commuters who are going to use the new-age transport system to visit the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium for the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games on Thursday.
Additional signages will be put up at both Jangpura and Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium metro stations where details about the nearby gates of the stadium will be mentioned.
While the Jangpura station is near gate numbers 6, 9, 10, 11 and 12 of the Stadium, gate numbers 13, 14 and 15 are close to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium metro station.
Repeated announcements will be made at Jangpura and Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium metro stations about the nearby gate numbers of the JLN Stadium.
The DMRC will also deploy more than 150 additional personnel comprising Customer Facilitation Agents, guards and volunteers at the Central Secretariat, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and Jangpura metro stations to guide the commuters.
Metro trains will run at a frequency of 2 minutes and 40 seconds. If needed, additional trains will also be run after the stipulated revenue hours to manage the crowd.
A team of senior officers headed by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's (DMRC) director (operations) Raj Kumar will monitor the movement of trains from the operational control centre of the Delhi metro at Metro Bhawan.
Approximately 38,000 people had used the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium metro station (25,000) and the Jangpura metro station (13,000) to reach the JLN Stadium for the opening ceremony.
During the first week of the Commonwealth Games since October 3, Delhi Metro has recorded an average operational punctuality rate of 99.88%. The Delhi metro is making about 2,808 train trips everyday on its network and in the last one week only 24 train trips lost their punctuality out of 19,656 trips performed by the trains.
The Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat metro stations will remain closed as advised by Delhi police between 5am and 11am on October 14 due to the marathon race on the same day.
At Rajiv Chowk metro station, only metro station gate numbers 1, 2, 7 and 8 will remain open for the public on the same day to facilitate the organisation of various Commonwealth Games events.
