Tennis legend John McEnroe and coach Darren Cahill have said that they believe Wimbledon champion Andy Murray will recover quickly and come back stronger from his US Open defeat to Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka.

According to the Guardian, Murray could not have been more matter-of-fact putting behind him the disappointment of losing in straight sets in the quarter-finals of the US Open, the title he won a year ago, adding that he could not win or be in the final of every Grand Slam.

McEnroe advised Murray to take a month off and said that he had a lot more pressure than he had while playing Wimbledon.

Darren Cahill, the Australian who briefly worked with Murray before he took on Ivan Lendl as his coach, said that what the Scot had accomplished over the last 14 months had been remarkable and there was always going to be a natural let down at some stage.

McEnroe also said that coach Ivan Lendl could help Murray bounce back from his recent poor form.
