Pakistan cricket team’s fitness trainer David Dwyer has resigned from his post citing personal reasons.

"I have simply decided to move back to Sydney after two and half great years with the team purely for personal reasons," Cricinfo quoted Dwyer, as saying.

Dwyer said he had a great time with the Pakistan squad during his stint, adding that there was a huge improvement in the over all fitness of players.

“It was a very difficult decision to make because I can see that we have made very good physical improvements in all of the players over the course of my time with the team. Most importantly the friendships that I made with the coaches, players and all of those involved with the team,” he said.

Dwyer joined the team with coach Geoff Lawson in 2007 on a two-year contract and continued a year after Lawson was removed in 2008.
