As expected, golden girl Manu Bhaker won India's second gold at Youth Olympics Games in Buenos Aires. Earlier, Mizoram's Jeremy Lalrinnunga won gold in 62 kg-weighlifting on Monday morning.

Bhaker who topped the qualification easily had a much tougher final competition. She slipped to the second spot midway but finally held her nerves to clinch the gold. She scored 236.5 to win the gold closely followed by Russia's Enina who finished with 235.9.

Bhaker shot into fame after her gold medal in the Commonwealth Games in Australia earlier this year. Bhaker couldn't ensure a podium finish in the Asian Games, but the coaches were always bullish about gold medal chances of her in the Youth Olympic Games.

Bhaker deservingly was given the honour of leading the Indian contingent as its flag-bearer as the opening ceremony of the Youth Olympic Games, in a first, was held on the streets with over two lakh people showing up. Now, Bhaker has paid back the confidence of her coaches by winning a gold.
