RIP Ashiesh Roy: A popular television actor, dubbing artist

Ashiesh Roy passed away at the age of 55 after kidney failure. He breathe his last in Mumbai on November 24, 2020, at 3:45 am.

During his career from the 90s, Ashiesh Roy starred in several television shows namely Byomkesh Bakshi, Banegi Apni Baat, Dam Dama Dam, Movers & Shakers, Daayre, Yes Boss, Remix, Hari Mirchi Lal Mirchi, Aek Chabhi Hai Padoss Mein, Baa Bahu Aur Baby, Chaldi Da Naam Gaddi, Burey Bhi Hum Bhale Bhi Hum, Mrs. & Mr. Sharma Allahabadwale, Sasural Simar Ka, Jeannie Aur Juju, Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai, Goldie Ahuja Matric Pass, Mere Angne Mein, Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi and Aarambh.

Ashiesh Roy was a part of a few movies such as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero, Home Delivery, MP3: Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar, Raja Natwarlal and Barkhaa.

Ashiesh Roy was also a dubbing artist who lent his voice for popular Hollywood movies in Hindi. His voice was heard in movies like Superman Returns, The Dark Knight, Man of Steel, Guardians of the Galaxy, RoboCop among others.

During the coronavirus lockdown, Ashiesh required an urgent kidney transplant and he had asked his colleagues from the television industry for help. Talking about the same, Roy had stated to the Times of India, "I had to take a discharge from the hospital because I had no money to pay for the daily expenses of the hospital. Also with Covid-19 the risk of infection is high so it's better that I visit hospital only for my dialysis, so I can either afford dialysis or the hospital expenses."
