The battle against the DEAD just took place and my heart has come out of my mouth and dropped on the floor. The latest episode of 'Game of Thrones' season 8 everything that I expected and actually slightly more than that. It was a dark episode in a literal sense due to which they had to light it up with fire every now and then. In the second episode, we saw that the whole of Winterfell is waiting for the White Walkers to of course fight against them!

*Major Major Major Spoilers, Read At Your Own Risk*

The episode titled 'The Long Night' starts with Samwell Tarly trembling with fear and is handed over a couple of dragonglass to fight the dead. Even though he is scared AF, Sam knows what he has signed up for ready to just deal with it. Like shown in the promo, everyone is up on the wall keeping a watch on the Dothrakis and Unsullied, who have been left in the open to fight the war. As they are waiting for the Dead to arrive, some known face comes towards the army on a horse. There she is, yes, the Red Woman, Melisandre! She tells the army to lift their weapons which she lights up and it beautifully spreads like a wildfire.

Melisandre sees Ser Davos and assures him that she will be dead before the dawn. Red Woman is here with a purpose, peeps! As they march towards the battlefield after just a few mins, the fire goes off and we see the army returning back to their position. Yes, even Jorah Mormont has come back. Seeing this sight, Daenerys Targaryen gears up to enter the battlefield, but Jon Snow stops her. She tells him, "Dead is already here". Again a deja vu moment! Dany and Snow ride on their respective dragons and spit fire on the zombies who are weird AF.

Seeing this, Arya Stark tells sister Sansa Stark to go inside the crypt like others who aren't fighting. On the other hand, Jon and Dany witness a storm while riding the dragons and their visions are blinded. Even we couldn't see anything!

Soon after that Ser Brienne and Tormund ask the survivors to fall back and Lyanna Mormont asks them to open the gate! She is so brave... The armies placed trenches so that White Walkers don't enter their territory. Which yet again Melisandre lights up with the amazing chants.

We forgot about Bran Stark! He is chilling near the Weirwood tree and has Theon Greyjoy as a company. Bran then tells Theon that he is off somewhere and we know where. The three-eyed raven communicates with his fellow crows and sees that the Night King is on his ice dragon where he tells the dead to 'sacrifice' themselves on fire so that other zombies can make their way.

Here comes the first death! Yes, it's Lyanna Mormont, who gets smashed by a giant zombie and before she dies, she slashes his eye as well! You were badass, girl! Here the Hound has given up and the girl who saved his life, Arya is fighting bravely against the Dead. She is trapped inside a cellar with the zombies and like she 'accidentally' said on Jimmy Fallon show that she is going to die in the third episode, I thought it might turn out to be true. But ultimately she is saved by Hound and Beric, though the latter sacrifices his life.

I wish Jon and Dany did something more! It looked like they were saving themselves rather than fighting. But wait! Dany sees the Night King and tells Drogon 'Dracarys'. I was happy for a moment but it turned out that even fire doesn't affect him. The Night King then walks and makes all the dead turn in to zombies. Yes, even Lyanna is a White Walker now.

Dany saves Jon but her Drogon is attacked by the White Walkers. Her death was almost near but Jorah saves Dany. Jon heads to save Bran but he is trapped by the zombies and ice dragon. The zombies also enter the crypt and attack many. Tyrion and Sansa have a beautiful moment, I shed a few tears too.

Bran is back and sees the White Walkers approaching him. He thanks Theon for everything and the latter wins my heart by fighting the dead bravely. Alas, he is killed by the Night King himself! Yes, I am proud of you Theon.

Melisandre and Arya finally come face-to-face where the former tells her that she will kill someone with blue eyes! Yes, as Night King approaches to kill Bran, she takes his sword and kills him, making the whole Ice people melt at once.

Sadly Jorah also faces death while saving Dany! Melisandre becomes a 100-year-old again and breathes her last.

Definitely an epic episode!
