Today we will discuss an actor, who has established himself in Telugu and Hindi television with his performance. This rough-and-tough guy has always carried a strong persona on reel and real life. However, deep down inside this artiste is an emotionally vulnerable person, who has faced struggles at different stages of his life. That's why Sai Ketan Rao wins hearts in the Bigg Boss house.
When Sai Ketan Rao was left abandoned at five
Sai Ketan Rao was born into a middle-class family in Lonavala, Maharashtra. His father is a Maharashtrian, and his mother is Telugu. In the first week, Sai got emotional when he revealed that he was five years old when his father left him and his mother alone. Sai's father abandoned them, and thus he adopted his mom's surname- Rao.
When Sai and his mom slept on railway tracks
In another episode, Sai revealed that after his father left them, they were 'harassed' by their relatives. While sharing his past with Chandrika Dixit and Deepak Chaurasia, Rao said, "After my dad left, mom faced harassment from her in-laws, as they used to question us a lot. But we grew out of it and fought back. My mom and I have gone through a lot together. During tough days, we even slept on railway tracks."
Sai Ketan Rao's mother took multiple jobs to meet the ends
In the same conversation, he said that his mom took several odd jobs to meet ends, and it was a tough journey for them. "Mom used to work multiple jobs to make ends meet while raising two kids. Slowly we grew financially, but it was a tough ride," Rao added.
Sai Ketan wanted to become a doctor but...
Sai left Chandrika and Deepak emotional when he revealed that he wanted to become a doctor, but he had to give up his dreams because they couldn't afford the fees of the medical college. After this, he switched to engineering and graduated with a B.Tech in Computer Science from Hyderabad Institute of Technology and Management. After engineering, he wanted to pursue acting, but his mom wasn't keen about this 'unstable' job, "My mom was initially against me acting as it is an unstable career. She wanted me to pursue an MBA and take a corporate job. It took me eight months to convince her, after which I went to film school in Hyderabad to kickstart my acting career."
