The final hearing on the case challenging lok ayukta special court order to probe allegations of land scams against chief minister BS Yeddyurapa will continue on Wednesday.

Appearing for the applicant advocate Sirajin Basha, CH Hanumantharayappa contended that the sanction was obtained to prosecute Yeddyurappa and subsequent complaints were filed in accordance with the law.

Sohan Kumar, Yeddyurappa’s son-in-law, had filed a writ petition in the high court challenging the February 26 Lokayukta order to inquire into the allegations against Yeddyurappa and other family members over the land scam row.

The high court on March 29 stayed the Lokayukta special court order. Basha then moved the Supreme Court challenging the high court order of granting a stay. The apex court on April 29 dismissed the special leave petitions and directed that Basha could move the high court for vacating the stay.
