As many as 5,000 ration cards of Kashmiri migrants were found to be fake and have been cancelled, the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly was informed today.

The information was given by minister for revenue, relief and rehabilitation Raman Bhalla in a written reply during Question Hour.
   
He said that as many as 38,119 families of Kashmiris are registered as migrants with Relief Organisation at Jammu and added that out of these, 34202 families are Hindus, 2168 Muslims and 1749 Sikhs.
   
The minister said that 19,338 Kashmiri Migrants are living in Delhi, 11 families in Himachal Pradesh, 924 in Haryana, 114 in Chandigarh, 319 in Punjab, 57 in Uttaranchal, 222 in Uttar Pradesh, 43 in Madhya Pradesh, one in Tamil Nadu, 38 in Karnataka, 208 in Maharastra and 48 Rajasthan.
