People in Mumbai dance in jubilation over Kasab's verdict

The verdict of the Bombay high court confirming the death penalty to the Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab in the 26/11 terror attack case, was today received by the people with bursting of fire crackers and distribution of sweets.

As soon as the news about the confirmation of death sentence on Kasab broke, members of public danced in jubilation outside the high court.

Members of Mumbai Youth Association (MYA), an NGO, danced happily, burst fire crackers and distributed sweets.

Hailing the verdict as the victory of people, MYA President Pradeep Bhavnani said Kasab deserved the harsh punishment for killing innocent persons.

Bhavnani said government counsel Ujjwal Nikam did a good job by nailing Kasab in the crime. He also demanded that Kasab be hanged as early as possible.

Some persons also burst crackers outside a hotel in South Mumbai where Nikam has been put up. A native of Jalgaon, Nikam stays in the hotel during his visit to the city.
