Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om is one of the iconic movies that had the most number of cameos. The song Deewangi Deewangi featured many of the biggest names in the Hindi film industry. Recently she revealed how Mithun Chakraborty’s fans caused a stampede on sets when he came for the shoot.

Speaking on Radio Nasha, Farah Khan recalled, “People went crazy for Mithun da, and even I couldn’t believe it. There was a stampede on the set. Mithun da also came after a long time, so light boys and everybody came on the set. I think he was the president of some association and had done a lot for workers.”

She further revealed that Mithun’s fans sidelined Shah Rukh Khan and handed their phones to him to click photos, hence turning him into a photographer. She said, “They were literally giving their phones to Shah Rukh to click their photos with Mithun da.”

In an earlier interview on IFTDA Official’s YouTube channel, Farah revealed how Shah Rukh Khan, who was also the producer of Om Shanti Om, gifted goodie bags worth Rs 1 lakh to all the actors who attended the shoot of the song. The female actors got to keep the costumes, designed by Manish Malhotra.

The song composed by Vishal-Shekhar with lyrics by Javed Akhtar, ‘Deewangi Deewangi’ featured 31 cameos including Bobby Deol, Salman Khan, Dharmendra, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukerji, Kajol, Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta, Shilpa Shetty, Priyanka Chopra, Juhi Chawla, Rekha and more. The song was the highlight of the movie and became a chartbuster.

Om Shanti Om marked the debut of Deepika Padukone in Bollywood and also starred Shreyas Talpade, Kirron Kher, and Arjun Rampal apart from Shah Rukh Khan. The film turned out to be a huge success at the box office and still lives rent-free in the hearts of Indian audiences.
